The system's basically designed so that it accounts for the gap in the marks between people. If two people are only 1 mark apart in their school assessments, their final assessment mark will most likely be very close, unless of course your teacher is marking really badly.

As long as you do well in the externals, i.e. a few band 6s, I think 90+ is quite achievable.

At present, it appears so. I have an FOI application in progress now for three courses (IPT 2004, Chemistry 2007, SDD 2007), which should be processed by the middle of the month or so. I think Hugh Parsonage has been working to get a full list of cutoffs, so hopefully we should have that soon.
