Do you have a locker at your school

I consider my school to be a 'proper' school - and we don't have lockers. Well we do - but only for years 7+8, which is pointless in my opinion.

What have you sacrificed for the HSC this/next year.

LOL - you sound like a typical asian.

subjects u did which didnt count, did u regret doing it?

I haven't gotten my UAI yet - but I am 99% certain that my Mathematics (Adv) HSC mark will not count towards my UAI, unless I drop 4U maths. But yeah I don't regret doing it - because it's given me a strong foundation which is needed for 3U/4U maths.

    Terry Lee TEXTbooks !

A bookstore came to my school - and they stocked Terry Lee. I think they were based in Hurstville. But yeah - just buy from Terry Lee himself.

Changing subject at the start of Year 11?

Yeah - they generally won't be too happy, but they should let you change. Depending on the school - you might have a set period where you can change - for example with mine it was the first two weeks or something. I dropped Extension English and Studies of Religion II without any major...

    James Ruse Agricultural High

Isn't Con like specialised in music - so if you have an interest in music I think it would've been better to go to Con than ruse. But yeah - generally speaking Ruse would be an awesome school to go to in my opinion - but i dunno if I'll be able to catch up.

    HSC Subjects for University Course

Yeah what he said. Most average scaling subjects have scaling between 25-30, and decent scaling subjects have 30-40 scaling. Then there are some extremely high scaling subjects which scale usually 40-45. http://boredofstudies.org/scaledmeans.php

    your favourite science!

I have a feeling I've posted before - but I'll say again - Physics. After doing the first HSC topic - I can say HSC Physics gets even more interesting.

How much study do u do in Holidays?

That's not too bad. It builds up. Start from an hour now and slowly go up and by the time the HSC Exams arrive - you should be able to study heaps. It takes a while to develop skills to be able to study for a long period of time.

    Discussion: Ranking

Re: Study Discussion True. I ranked poorly in my internals when accelerating maths and I think that hurt me because my school did relatively poor this year compared to others. That's probably an advantage of going to a selective school - but too late tying out now :(

What have you sacrificed for the HSC this/next year.

After the end of the holidays - I'll probably give up on MSN/Facebook.

What do you feel when you drop a subject?

Yeah - that's cause you're a maths legend :) With me - I need to work hard with my maths - to ensure I do well in it.

    How detailed are your notes?

My notes consist of an answer to each syllabus point - so they are pretty detailed, however I intend on relying mainly on my notes for stud. Each module would be ~ 25-30 pages for my notes. I think that's a fair amount.

do you get bribed to do well at school?

HAHA, mine tell me that in native tongue as well xD It's a lot more annoying.

    Science subjects term 1 exams

Depends - but yes I highly think it would. Because half yearly exams usually cover more than one topic.

do you get bribed to do well at school?

I don't get bribed. My parents are the tight ass type of asian parents :p *puts on asian accent* 'Ohh no - you study hard for good future, benefit you not me'. *takes off asian accent* I agree with them though.

What do you feel when you drop a subject?

Don't worry - the extra time you gain by dropping Japanese will allow you to focus and do better in all your other subjects - especially 4U maths.

How many page exercise book should i buy for year 11?

They're actually called A5 - but yeah. I hate those books - only use them for scrap because I got heaps of those 1c ones. Just get normal 128 page books - no need for anything fancy.

    HSC Subjects for University Course

Yeah - choosing subjects based on scaling, isn't the best thing to do in my opinion, because if you don't like the subject - you'll probably do bad in it anyway and therefore will be scaled down for doing poorly. I chose my subjects based on interests - that's why I have a balance of high and...

    HSC Subjects for University Course

Not true. It would be beneficial to do Chemistry as it gives you ground knowledge but in most cases it's just recommended studies and not a pre-requisite - therefore you can just sit a bridging course, however if you are planning to do a science related degree in university - chances are you'd...
