    HSC Subjects for University Course

Yeah - I would advise you to drop Chemistry now. Because there's no point in taking up an extra 2 Units in year 11 - if you're not intending on keeping them in Year 12 anyway. As i said - I had 14 units, and it was pretty heavy. So you're better off just keeping 12 units.

If you can get rank 1 , there a point going all out?

Exactly, Giraween is one of the state's strong performing schools, I mean it is academically selective. Being helpful, you should still try and improve your marks because they will also align your Internal mark according to your performance and your cohort performance - so if your cohort did...

    HSC Subjects for University Course

That is not true. Most Uni courses have 'recommended studies' which would be courses which would relate and be beneficial for your studies in University. However you don't have to sit them during your Prelim + HSC year. So with the HSC just choose the subjects which you'll enjoy. Obviously...

How many page exercise book should i buy for year 11?

Yeah they're really good for pointing out syllabus and important points. Have you seen the stationary at Kinokuniya - they're soo nice - but soo expensive. Back on topic - I think Year 11 - just buy 1 exercise book for each topic except maths - I like to have two - one for theory and one for...

    Still curious..

To be honest - with the Preliminary and HSC - don't choose subjects which relate to your future career paths - there's no need. Choose subjects which you feel confident in doing and you'll know you'll get a good mark. Then you'll have a greater chance in getting the UAI you need to get into...

    Agriculture?

Well it depends on what school you go to as well. Like if you went to an Agricultural school like Hurlstone - you'd probably be better off doing agriculture because they'd probably have specialist teachers in the area, and since they're an Agricultural school - they'd prefer it if you did the...

How many page exercise book should i buy for year 11?

Morning Glory books are soo nice (yes I am a guy - but I have a slight obsession with asian stationary). However to make your books nice - make sure you write neat - I've been told I write like a girl - so it's not too much of a problem for me. Also different colours may help - like those new...

There is like 4 classes for one subject...

Well with Business Studies we have 3 classes, however two of them have 35 kids each in them, so they're thinking of splitting 2 of the classes. Therefore potentially we could have 5 business studies classes. Now beat that =)

    11 or 13 units?

Wow thanks for that. That's some great advice. Yeah with software - the theory component is really easy for me - that's probably the only reason why I kept it till now - because I hate the programming aspect. The algorithms are alright for me, however our coding language is VB.NET and I really...

Writing notes on Column 2 dotpoitns of syllabus

Agreed. With physics - make sure you understand the formulas and how to use them. However some aspects - like the data ones should have notes. For example I have notes on information about Goddard (you can do any scientist) and investigations such as the pendulum experiment.

How much study do u do in Holidays?

I think slowly studying in the holidays will actually be beneficial. If you bludge for 6 weeks straight - when you get back to school - it'll take you a while to be able to adapt to studying again - whereas if you took a break for 1-2 weeks, then slowly build up studying - you should be able to...

    11 or 13 units?

Haha Anna's a shifty one xD Nah but I also think Namu should drop 4U - I mean getting 100 in any HSC subject and not using it - such a waste in my opinion.

    Favourit period

It used to be study until I lost them. Now it's 3u/4U maths - because the class size is relatively small and our teacher gives us A LOT of freedom.

    Term 1 tests

Yeah - since most schools did not have proper examinations on their first topic. Also chances are you wouldn't be finished the 2nd Module by the Half-Yearly Examinations in Term 1, 2009 - therefore to make it fair - they would include Module 1.
