Integration of odd and even functions

That isn't an odd or even function. Just so you know.

I'm sure that you'd have more topics left. It's not even half way through Term 1!

    HSC Physics Space Questions!

(From the other thread...) I question the validity and the truth of that statement. Maybe you do want others to do your work for you? IOW: Don't comment on stuff you have no clue about especially when you can't even get the (IMO) simple concept of special relativity under your belt! Ladies...

    Cube Roots of Unity

Alright then, why don't you go through 30 trial papers (from various years) and other HSC papers, like I did, and count how many times they've asked you to prove expressions using these results.

    Electromotive force and Calculating it

Of course it can. The negative sign in Physics just signifies the direction. This is out of the current syllabus. If you're still interested used EMF=Blvsinθ

    Cube Roots of Unity

Note that this stuff isn't examined much so I personally wouldn't worry about it.

    Help with these fractions..=S

Umm... I assume he gave away 1/5 then gave away 1/3 of that and then 1/6 of that.... If so, he's given away (1/5)*(1/3)*(1/6) of his apples. So he's given away 1/90 of his apples, from the amount that he initially had. If you let X be the amount of apple the person initially had then...

Did any one get high UAI 90 + will low scaling subjects?

3U Maths, Physics and Economics actually scale well relative to other subjects. As does Advanced English. Not too sure about Business Studies and Geography but my understanding is that they don't scale quite as well as the others.

    Not too sure about this!

Oh yeah because the North pole of a magnet should be attracted to the south pole of Earth... Either that or the North pole on a magnet is a south pole :music:

    Mod/arg roots question

Hi guys, I know that if the angle of the roots (ie. argument) adds up to 2pi, then they are conjugates. For example, if z1=cis(pi/2) and z2=cis(3pi/2) then z2 is a conjugate of z1... Now, I've noticed that if the angles add upto pi, then the real part of one root and the other root are...

past 4u students- did your school have time to teach mechanics?

Yeah but you go to Sydney Boys high school... Instead of doing 4U in Term 4, you use the time to finish off the 3U course, and then later use some of the 3U lessons to complete 4U work.

past 4u students- did your school have time to teach mechanics?

Well at our school our trials are at the start of Term 3, so obviously Mechanics wouldn't be covered. I think Harder 3U, Mechanics and Graphs are examined after the trials. I've heard that mechanics requires logic like Physics. Some Maths teachers can't think this way and they have difficulty...

help with Series/trigonometry question and differentiating an equation with logs??

Re: help with Series/trigonometry question and differentiating an equation with logs? You need to cover trig functions to fully understand this. It's basically to do with the domain and range of the tan function. If you still want help, ask I can be bothered to answer at the moment... Yes...

    Maxima Minia Problem

Hello, Not sure if this belongs in 3U, but if someone could help me then that'd be great. Here's the question: Isoceles trapezia are drawn with side CD always 24cm, sides AD and BC equal and AD+AB+BC=42cm. Find the dimensions of the trapezium with greatest possible area. Diagram is attached...
