Has Anyone Finished their HSC and RETURNED back to school to do it again?

I'm sure some people have, but if they did they'd be crazy to go through the whole 2 years. Year 11 doesn't count, so basically you would only re-do it if you didn't pass in 12 or more units.

    year 11 subject selection

Only choose Catholic Studies if you go to a Catholic School, and you know you're gonna fail religion, OR you can't be stuffed putting in the effort for another subject (SOR or SOR2). Because Catholic Studies (as previously mentioned) will not go to your UAI, so no point in doing something that...

    School Report

At my school, it's something simular: English Advanced: A or B 9and you have to be in the advanced classes in Year 10) Maths (2U) - Minimum of a B in maths I think (we only have 1 2U class) Maths Ext. 1 - You have to get A or B and over 85 in SC I think (funny enough we have 2 classes)...

Re: Folders or Books? Yeah the more practise the better. I use folders, because if I wanna add something in I can easily do that. however for practise and scrap i use those 1c books.

do you wear glasses + how much do you study for?

I want anti-fogging stuff. I hate wearing my glasses when I'm eating soup or something, really fogs up my glasses.

    Feelings towards year 12

LOL I'm also pretty bad at spelling, and I'm an ex-extension english student. Counts for something doesn't it? I believe its mainly grammar, punctuation and writing style which determines how good you are in Senior english.

Distinction Courses: Interest and discussion on the proposed cancellation of courses

Re: Distinction Courses You have to complete the HSC at least a year ahead of your cohort, so you would have to be sitting the HSC either this year or next year for one or more subjects and get a decent mark for it (usually 90+).

Distinction Courses: Interest and discussion on the proposed cancellation of courses

Re: Distinction Courses LOL thanks! Yeah, most people who accelerate a subject don't usually accelerate english, accelerated students probably generally hate english... so that might be why its unpopular.

Distinction Courses: Interest and discussion on the proposed cancellation of courses

Re: Distinction Courses Comparative Literature to me would be crazy. Heard only a small handful (8 or something) people do it every year - so either it's really hard to get in or its really unpopular. Good luck though, hope you get in.

I think I was searching for 'HSC Scaling' into Google, while trying to decide what subjects to choose for Year 11/12.

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: What UAI are you aiming for? Yeah, depends. I think if you go to a Top 200 school, those rankings should be ok. If your school is ranked any lower, I'd try and get Top 5 of every subject and rank 1st in a few.

    Mathematics --> General ??

Thats the trend a lot of people go through. A lot of my friends accelerating 3U this year with me, (who are wayy better than me at maths) only got in the 30s as well... but you learn from your mistakes.
