    EMF calculations

I was looking at two textbooks (Macmillian and revised Jacaranda) and I noticed that Jacaranda didn't have anything to do with EMF, whilst Macmillian did. Has EMF calculations been taken out of the Physics course?

Should I get aleast one mark?

Did you expand it out correctly? If so, you should get full marks. But it also depends on how everyone else was marked.

    Torque and Force...

Hello, I am very confused... Textbook says that maximum torque is obtained when a loop (or loops..) of current carrying wire are parallel to the magnetic field, and that When the plane of loops is at right angles to the magnetic field, it would experience zero torque. But when a current...

    projectile motion please help

v=u+at 0=24.5-9.8t t=2.5 I don't get this question... I'm just going to calculate the 2nd stone that was projected downwards... EDIT: Did something terribly wrong. Correct calculations: S=ut+(1/2)at2 =(6*8)+[(1/2)*9.8*64) =361.6m

What are the accepted molar heat capacity of the following?

Heh, molar heat capacity of those fuels used to be in the old syllabus (ie. when it used to be proper chemistry). I think it's still in university. You used to calculate it theoretically using the energy within the bonds.

Goto the BDM office with ID (ie. passport) and they'll reprint one for $25 (probably more since I got mine reprinted 3 years ago).

    Projectile motion question

That's irrelevant. In Physics they wont ask any questions that you need to assume that the projectile stops at the top of flight. All I'm trying to say that is Vy=0 is just a number, and that is it. The projectile doesn't stop at the top of flight. Earth's accel. due to gravity is about...

    Yeats philosophy on life

Hi all, Could someone please tell me what Yeats unique philosophy on life is? Also, how does his writing reflect most of his personal thoughts and emotions? Just needs to be a few sentences. Thanks

    Projectile motion question

Common sense, assume? I think you're getting quite desperate to justify yourself :P Do you think, say special relativity is 'common sense'? I too used to think that a projectile did 'stop' at top of flight but my Physics teacher did correct me with all this, and trust me he's a very good...

    Projectile motion question

Well if a projectile does stop at top of flight, then there must be a way to calculate for HOW LONG it stops for. Saying that it stops for an infinitely small time without justification (ie. calculations), isn't really valid. How do you know it stops for a very small time? Can you prove it?

    Projectile motion question

Hahaha, I think this is like arguing that the aether exists.... Okay, an "indefinitely small time" -- Which is how long? How about giving me a figure? Consider a projectile has been projected upwards. At t=5, the ball still has an upward velocity of v, how long does the projectile remain at v...
