The cutoff you see listed on UAC's website represents the ATAR of the lowest ranking individual which got accepted into the course.
They are there only as a guide, not as a target in most cases.
Only if you don't swap your preferences around in the later rounds.
If you accept an offer for your first preference, the assumption (on the UAC's side) is that you are in your favoured course so there's no reason to offer anything else.
Also if you end up figuring out what you want to do, you can transfer out of the degree (if you can't major in that area with a B. Arts) or you can do a Masters.

IIRC, the A-League and the NRL/AFL seasons aren't run simultaneously.
