    Indicators question?

You can think of 6.0 - 7.6 as a gradient. The more blue it is, the more alkaline the solution or whatever (you got this part mixed up). I would say that if a question said blue, then that would definitely mean 7.6+, otherwise they'd say a "green-blue".

    Derivative (max/min) question

Very nice :) I was playing around with similar triangles but I got no where near completing the solution. Thanks!

Just science stuff. Half yearly contains term 1 and term 2 content. But term 1 I learnt one module. Term 2 learning another module.

    Significant figures?

I get it now, thanks :) I thought the marking criteria was all black and white that's why (even longer responses).

What if I havn't learnt everything required for the half yearly yet... (probably wont be done UNTIL the half yearly lol...)
  7. Q

    Significant figures?

Oh, I thought they just go robot mode and give marks for hitting the marking criteria. I.e. Expression etc. don't really matter?
  8. Q

    Significant figures?

Oh really, that's interesting. I've never seen anything specified such as "300. V" I'm only concerned about this because I heard that if I leave my answer with the incorrect number of significant figures, I outright lose a mark?

    Derivative (max/min) question

I'm stuck on this question: "A parallelogram is inscribed in a triangle so that they have one vertex in common. The other vertices of the parallelogram lie on the three different sides of the triangle. Show that the maximum area of the parallelogram is half that of the triangle." I can't see...
  10. Q

    Significant figures?

I'm having trouble with significant figures. Take for example this Q: "The power distributed as 500v on a set of transmission lines is 500kW, and the resistance of the lines is 1.0 ohm." I've learnt that 500 can be both 1 and 3 sig figs. So in this question, would the lowest be 1 (5 x 10^2)...

    Isotopes - Chemistry

You can think of an "element" as a family. Isotopes are just the different family members. It's not that some elements are isotopes, and that other elements are not isotopes. That doesn't really make sense.

    2014'ers Chit-Chat Thread

Sigh... I'm like 6% behind first place for English. I have 70% left to play out. I don't think I can get back up, considering they only dropped ~2% in the 30% so far. Consider 2%/30 x 70 = 4.7%. Therefore, they'll drop ~4.7% in the remainder of year 12, and even if I 100% everything from now on...
