    scaling of subs

I pretty sure that the scaling of physics was about the same as (or even less than) advanced english? There is a really helpful table about all that somewhere around on here.....

    Frankenstein/BladeRunner

Hmm out of the other comparative studys I've done it was alright. Frankenstein was a book that I didnt like reading but after I finished I realised it was pretty good (I had to read Emma for Extension in Year 11 and I didnt even read it) Blade Runner was a bit "huh?" and "why is he doing...

i screwed up my first HSC asessment.. am i screwed T^T

Dont worry too much. I didnt do very well in my first assessment for Bio either (87%) and the top mark was 99%. I'm not too worried, I do better at exams anyways.

    failing my first assesment

Thats pretty bad but dont stress too much, it was only worth 10% of your mark for that subject. How much did you study for the test though? If you didnt study much then that WILL be a problem getting a uai of 90, bombing out in the first assessment task isnt that bad as long as you are...

    the 'I HATE SUPRE' thread

I walked past supre the other day and saw they had a "beached as" t-shirt and I got so angry. I'm preparing for the 13 year old skanks to be walking around with it who think the t-shirt is supporting sunbaking or some shit.

The Life And Crimes of Harry Lavender

We are using it as a related text for crime writing in extension at the moment. Definately not one of my favourite books but my teacher strongly recommended it. It is a pretty popular choice as a related text in the past as far as I'm aware. Our standard english class are actually studying...

    Frankenstein/BladeRunner

We are part of the way through our Bladerunner study now. After watching the movie for the first time I was doubting my ability to link the two texts but now Im starting to see the links happening. Scientific Progress- Frankenstein: Victor misuses his power to infuse life and fails to...

What is your motivation to study?

Haha thats basically it for me. I've set myself a standard and I'm not going to lie- I am really competitive... I do like to do well at things and thats has motivated me from day 1 really.

Finish a subject 3 terms early

What were you doing picking general??? The school wont let you to do anything early so that was a bad decision on your part if you can complete the course so easily.

Study guides - are they really THAT helpful?

Study guides are very broad and dont go into much depth at all (especially the older Excel guides). Im not a big fan of the excel guides, the new ones (release 2008 Im pretty sure) are much better than the old excel guides- my chemistry one is bigger than my textbook however it will cost you...

3 hours a night is not enough!

Thanks Namu, Ive found some of the stuff everyone has said really helpful and Im starting to realise that Im just going to damage myself more than help my HSC. 2 hours effective study a night looks like it will be the best option.

What do you feel when you drop a subject?

I dropped extension maths but I felt so guilty and I didnt do as bad in the exam as i first thought so I kept it! I wasnt prepared to loose a subject that could be potentially helpful in the future but I suppose it differs person to person.

    Study Discussion

Re: Write notes or type notes ? Thats what Ive been doing, its good because I type the notes a few days later and its sorta like revising and sticks more in my mind that way. Its just very very time consuming

3 hours a night is not enough!

I've been thinking this over and I have decided to head more for doing questions rather than making notes. I have noticed that just about everyone in my year is in a simlar boat as me, as in they have found the workload difficult so far. I was a crammer Year 7-11 Im trying to change that...
