Don't stress too much, it is a rough time for all of us 09ers while adjusting into the HSC routine. Like Namu said you can learn from your mistakes and don't stress too much, it isn't like you have done below your personal standard in the HSC trials or something like that.
Don't get too...
If I've done the best I can then I'm not too bad, usually a bad exam/ assessment motivates me to do better in that subject or put more time into studying for that subject and stuff.
I study each night off the syllabus, only about an hour at the moment because I've been up to my neck in assessments but usually I do about 2-3 hours of study.
Ok its the molar heat of combustion prac and I'm stressing cause my results are VERY different from the standard enthalpies of combustion but we didnt use anything to prevent heat loss in the experiment sooo yeah.
Propan-1-ol: (standard enthalpy of heat of combustion is -2020 kJ/mol
I have to...
Why is it that the theoretical heats of combustion are higher than the results that you actually recieve from the experiment?
Shouldn't it be the other way around?
I don't understand?
So say everyone does well in a subject, everyone gets between 80-95 or something, if you get a low ranking does it mean your mark will be affected by your ranking even though you did well in terms of marks.
I'm not sure if that made sense :/
Why can't bos just give us our raw marks as our hsc marks?
Then UAC can do all the scaling and such to calculate our uais?
It would be a whole lot easier for me to gauge how I am going in comparison the rest of the state and also what UAI to expect.
At the moment my UAI is looking to be...
Haha yes that was my reaction when I realised how my different subjects scaled... I was suprised about how poor pdhpe scales, it contains A LOT of content, as does biology.
Um... no?
Look here:
http://www.boredofstudies.org/scaledmeans.php
These are the scaled means from 2001-2003
And as you can see physics has a lower scaled mean than English Adv, Extension 1 and Extension 2 in every year.
The higher the scaled mean then the higher the scaling of the subject...
At my friends school some women from the board of studies came in and told them that scaling doesnt exist.
I think the confusion lies in the fact that the BOS dont do the scaling, UAC do it.
