    New Business Degrees from 2010

Australian School of Business - UNSW- Basically the core courses will be changing. What we now know as "QMA" will no longer be a core course, instead, new first years (starting next year) will have to do Accounting 1A, Microeconomics 1, Business stats (or what we now know as QMB), and MGMT1001...

During school, after school or during uni?

I know people who's gone on exchange during their gap year, and loved it so much that they went back during their uni years again for another exchange. Everyone's experience will differ from each other... you can still do homestay even when you're in university (that's what I'll be doing in a...

External transfer to Comemrce at UNSW

Notice how he's currently doing Commerce and Law? His marks wouldn't have been enough for commerce/law at UNSW.

External transfer to Comemrce at UNSW

I don't think UNSW has 2nd semester commerce in-takes for local students. As for 2nd year transfer, you will have to apply through the UAC. Only your UAI or your first year average (which ever is higher) will be taken into account and given that you have had a 97.45 UAI, you should be able to...

    Intermediate Japanese

I thought since it's your first year at uni, you're allowed to go down a level or go up a level (for the language) if you feel that this level you've been placed in is too hard or too easy.

    Transfering programs

You don't need a 75% average for B. Economics. - 75% is your weighted average. - For economics, normally a credit average (65%) and above should be suffice. And that is not hard to achieve given if you did all the work required of the course (but I don't think it'd be easy for science...

    What happened to <Language> 1A, 1B, 2A, etc?

But the name change of the courses makes them sound better.

    What happened to <Language> 1A, 1B, 2A, etc?

The logic behind that is so their courses sound far more "prestigious" and "sophisticated" than just a coded number. Compare French 2A to Intermediate French, then Japanese 3A to Advanced Japanese. Tell me which one sound more "professional" and "hardcore"? To me, the newer course names makes...

Can we get older editions for ACCT1501 & ECON1101 textbooks?

I emailed the accounting lecturer in charge this semester, and she said no. You will need the new edition. As for micro, it's a completely different textbook to the one they used last year.

    Exchange to a competitive university

    1. Usually the most academic universities are most popular, also those in the main/well-known cities of a country tend to be quite popular too. And the more popular they are, the more competitive they become for potential exchange students. When you're being nominated by your home university (at...

    > 144 uoc and gends in summer school

Every program allows a certain amount of electives outside of your selected major(s)... So yes if you do too much random electives that can't be put under a major or minor of your degree.... I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to satisfy your degree requirements and cannot graduate until you have?

UNSW first year commerce textbooks for sale!

Last time I checked with the UNSW bookshop (they have textlists for some subjects) about Micro and Macro, their textbooks have changed from last years. For Macro, it's: Principles of Macroeconomics 2nd Edition by Bernanke et al. I'm assuming the same books (as in also by Bernanke et al.) for...
