    International Student Loans

There's the OS-HELP loan available for HECS students studying abroad. It's a one-off interest loan that adds on top of your HECS and you pay back the same way as HECS. Here's the link for more info: Study overseas

    HSC plus - unsw

If the person with the 96 UAI also has the 5 HSC Plus points, I'm sure they're in a higher position than you. But if they don't have them, then assuming the cut-off this year remains the same, yes you would be equally as competitive as the latter case where they are not receiving any HSC Plus bonus.

    Commerce (International)?

Check the page for yourself. :) UNSW Handbook Program - Commerce (International) - 3538 I think it meant that you can do up to 2 languages under the languages stream, but I don't think you'd be able to really master both languages since you'd be restricted in terms of how many of these subjects...

    Commerce (International)?

No you can't. Not 2 extra majors anyways. Just one more. You're talking about Commerce/Arts which is a 5 year double degree course that allows you to do up to a total of 4 majors (2 from business & 2 from arts). So if you're really just wanting 1 major under business and 2nd major as a language...

    Commerce (International)?

I'm not doing Commerce (International) OR International Studies. And I'll be going on exchange for a year next year. I will not pay the tuition fees of the overseas university, but instead I pay UNSW my normal fees (as I would if I was still in UNSW, via HECS), as well as all my own living...

    Prescribed materials in Arts?

I'm doing Japanese! :D I think most people in the course get fine without doing extra readings aside from the textbook and lecture notes (and lot of practice/memorisation). But then again, this is only for the first 2 levels of Japanese, if you're doing an Advanced Japanese major, I'd be wrong...

On the topic of University Transfers...

One of my friend had a 75 WAM (after 1 full year) and got his transfer to Comm/Arts (from Arts) last year.

On the topic of University Transfers...

When we do the application, they ask for our previous UAC number (which is your HSC student number with a 1 in the front, or the same one you used for UAC last year for access to UAI). So I'm guessing that's where they dig up our UAI's?

    B Commerce(Finance)/B Arts(Psychology)

Why don't you just do BCommerce(Finance)/BScience(Psychology) at UNSW? Doesn't make much difference, plus Psychology is apparently catergorised under the science faculty in UNSW... and the fact that BCom/BA is 5 years while BCom/BSci is only 4.....

    Your feelings towards internationals.

I think its just the minority that's shaped the 'stereotype' of the international students... I mean there's plenty of stereotypes based on a small group of people...

    ☆ Exchange to Japan ☆

I'm applying to go during fall semester next year. Don't know if I'd get my first preference, which is Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya (near Osaka). And Doshisha is my 2nd preference. :)

    course selectionsss

If you make the cut-off for your first preference, yes you WILL be given your first preference. You will also get a chance to change your preferences after you get your UAI. If I'm not wrong most universities don't have 'prerequisites' for most of their courses, including science/engineering...
