    No Money in Law !?

Haha, no, it was 9 hours of day with the rest as work! At least, that's what I thought "work breaks" was.

    No Money in Law !?

Hilarious! I was at a certain law firm once for an event and their HR manager was discussing the office with me. "We have a dormitory", she said. "An area so the lawyers can get some rest". I almost walked out right then!

What type of position is this called in law?

Most kinds of lawyers charge clients according to time. So you might need to be more specific than, "crazy lawyers who charge heaps for very little". This might help you out with the difference between solicitors and barristers

Is law the most difficult degree?

Heck no, it isn't. I'd give that honour to medicine or engineering. There's money in law. It just depends on how hard you're willing to work for it.

Worth doing JD at Melbourne Uni?

I do. You might be able to make a lot of money in law once you get to the top, but that's not guaranteed and it takes a lot of years of hard work and effort to get there.

    The importance of "Legal Studies"

I think the question was, will the OP be at a disadvantage in a law degree down the track. Doing a subject because you like it or because it will get you a good mark applies to any of them.

Worth doing JD at Melbourne Uni?

No. AFAIK it's 16 hours per week of actual classes (2 hours x 2 for each of your 4 classes), and a lot more on top of that of study and assessment. The workload is so intense, many JDs I know have difficulty holding down part time jobs on the side.

    The importance of "Legal Studies"

I lolled I didn't do legal studies and hey, look, I'm in my fourth year at Melbourne and doing fine. From what I've seen of legal studies stuff, at least in Victoria, it's the kind of information they teach you as background knowledge in the first few weeks. A couple of non-assessable lectures...

what are some good female clothes stores

Sportsgirl and Forever New sometimes have great stuff but you're not getting what you pay for in quality Some Oxford shops do women's clothing that's pretty fantastic. Try for a sale, though, as it can be pretty expensive as well, and it's more or less almost formal clothes. Suits, coats...

    criminology job opportunities

AFAIK if you want to do much more than administrative work in the courts, you're going to need a law degree. Associates tend to be recent law graduates or junior lawyers. Idk about tipstaffs but I'd imagine the same.

"Monash is just a giant carpark with a bunch of students milling around" "You can't go to parties and say, oh yes, I study law at Melbourne, then come back here and complain about not having a break"

    Conspiracy against small feet?

Small feet is nothing. I have the problem of having thin, narrow feet, so almost nothing fits me. Finding shoes of ANY variety is a hideously long and difficult exercise and I can't wear (and have never worn) thongs, ballet flats, strapless heels, and even finding heels with straps where my feet...

    law clerk position

I was a legal secretary for a while but once they discovered I actually learned something at law school, they gave me decent work to do. Take up any opportunity you can to get in there - that's the most difficult part.

    Quick case note question

I find it worthess to write out a specific case note, but reading the most vital cases in full and drawing out all the useful principles, examples, exceptions etc from them and stuffing those into your notes under the topic heading is very useful when they inevitably crop up in an essay question...
