Do you get a WAM on your transcript if you only done 1 semester of study?

To my knowledge Usyd doesn't calculate or put a WAM on any transcript (whether during or after you have finished your degree). They certainly didn't with my BA or LLB...

First semester and already over uni

Doing something you enjoy, making friends in those subjects who can talk to about work etc usually assists me. However if you think you may need to re-evaluate what you are studying, or perhaps are a bit burnt out after high school and need a break, then deferring for a semester could be a...

fail a unit - need to repeat?

The science handbook for the year you started will provide you with the information you need about requirements to attain the degree. The 2013 handbook for science is available here: http://sydney.edu.au/handbooks/science/undergraduate/b_science/b_science.shtml "Bachelor of Science (a) To...

B.Commerce/B.Laws: Transferring, WAM and employment opportunities

Re: At usyd if u transfer from a totally different faculty is ur transcript wiped? Check with the uni, but my understanding is yes, it will show on your transcript. Your transcript consists of the all your subjects attempted at the University of Sydney. Quote from usyd: "An academic...

B.Commerce/B.Laws: Transferring, WAM and employment opportunities

Re: Please understand my dire situation (ALL FAIL) and HELP ME CHOOSE FROM MY OPTIONS Yes sorry perhaps I should have been more clear - the uni offers workshops on time management/essay writing/keeping on track etc. I actually haven't studied at MQ - I seriously considered it when I was...

B.Commerce/B.Laws: Transferring, WAM and employment opportunities

Re: Please understand my dire situation (ALL FAIL) and HELP ME CHOOSE FROM MY OPTIONS Like what has already been said in this thread, you need to work out why you had such a difficult first semester and make sure that you are able to overcome those issues before continuing studies (whether at...

Semester 1 USYD Chatter Thread 2013

In law they do - because they are required to pass the course (there are two 0 credit point Legal Research units that students are required to do - but its just pass/fail - so it appears on transcript as 'satisfied requirements'). At least in law. Might depend on what the subject is/whether it...

take home due tomorrow. 100%. I remember why I dislike take home exams so much - it's not an exam, and not an assignment - the expectations of the marker are somewhere in the middle...you just don't know where! :(

yeah mid-sems are pretty much up to the individual lecturer. Some faculties may set aside a week for mid-sems, but most don't to my knowledge.

I bought one in first year...still good 6 years later (although they could have changed them since then). To be fair though, I haven't worn it in a few years...kind of outgrown the wearing my usyd hoodie out of the house. They are really warm though - pretty good for winter.

How hard is law if you are bad at writing english essays.

Good point. There is a lot of comprehension involved in law.

How hard is law if you are bad at writing english essays.

You don't need to use big words that no one has heard of. There is some law specific terminology that you pick up over time, but the main focus of law writing these days is plain language legal writing. People want to understand what you are writing/speaking about. The days of really obscure...

Discontinue fail vs 21/100 fail mark. HELLPP

My advice would be to go talk to the student support services on campus if you haven't already - http://sydney.edu.au/current_students/counselling/get-help/ - they are probably better placed to assist you with your studies, and give you more information on what your options are (and their...

Working whilst studying at University full-time?

Big stores like Coles/Woolworths/Kmart are usually good as they have heaps of staff so easy to get time off for exams etc and have long store opening hours so flexible times for students. When I worked at a supermarket I mostly did 4 hours shifts - 6-10pm etc or earlier, depending on my...

Where to go to join sport teams.

Did you go to o-week? Most of the sports clubs had booths. In any case, sports teams are run by the sports union. Visit www.susf.com.au and look at the "sports clubs" tab and contact whatever sport you are interested in :)
