    Midyear Entry

Hi  I spoke with the person at the Arts and Social Sciences Student Centre and they said that there would be problems doing languages if you're starting mid-semester. Depends if you like it or not. What field do you want to get into?

    red P off during parking?

Don't you put it on the bonnet? I've found that if the magnetic plates are warm/hot (like in summer) they're less likely to "blow off". If it's cold, it's much easier to fall off. I've heard some moisture also helps :spin: Shoving it inbetween licence plate and bumper is probably most...

    What you hate about UNSW

Why do we only have 3 weeks? I was under the impression that it was 4 :S EDIT: dammit. Just saw the Academic calender. It is 3 weeks. Still, I guess O week could be counted as being a bit of a holiday :)

    Enzyme experiment for BABS1201

It looks like you're being asked to do an experiment to confirm that enzymes are actually doing something on a particular substance. The 'structure' bit I think is asking you to identify where the site of activity in the enzyme is and what is happening/what is it doing to the substance you are...

    AMEB Exams?

Don't stress too much about it. Keep in mind that it's only one person's opinion. Read their comments and work it over with your teacher. The reason why the examiner gave you a D was because they thought you weren't ready to start A.Mus.A and that's perfectly fine. Read over their comments and...

    Who does Musicianship??

Ride out this year. Try not to think so negatively. I didn't like some of the stuff either, but learn it, do the exam and you can forget about it after that (some of the stuff is actually quite useful) :) As some people say here, 6th grade is more interesting than 5. I'll leave you to find out why.

Advice for the future... Physiotherapy/ Medicine

Well, I'm not an expert in the path you're taking, but I'll do my best. - If you can get practical experience is a pretty good start (especially if you can get a good reference for it). - Good marks at university + participation in societies that links to your career path Keep in mind that a...

    question about usyd post-grad dentistry

It's actually 4.0 according to ACER and Dentistry Faculty. GAMSAT - How to calculate your GPA The Bachelor of Dentistry - Faculty of Dentistry - The University of Sydney (~ halfway down) From what I've heard, so as long as you don't fail anything and you get a GPA of at least 4.0 then yes, you...

    Rules for Customers

In your example, I would've just gone to Myer. The place I work at does price beating so there is a point in coming back to our store, lol. True. True again. Which is also true :)

Worst cars on the road today?

That's probably the closest to a Porsche or a BMW M that they can get for a P plater. Agreed, except maybe the too slow part.

    Parents Don't let me Drive!

That's a very good point DownInFlames and it's something I should've also taken into account in my answer. Remember that practice will allow you to gain confidence and skills required to drive. Did you drive them around as a learner? From the sounds of things it seems like your parents are...

    Parents Don't let me Drive!

When you have time, sit down with them [that's BOTH of them] (allow about 30 minutes) and ask them why. Them answering "We don't have it insured for you" is completely unacceptable and you shouldn't accept that as an answer. Ask them why they won't insure you. Don't accept a sloppy answer. They...

If you accept and enroll for a course at UTS can u accpet late round offers?

Keep in mind that this only applies to preference/s above the offer you accepted. i.e. If your UTS course was your 3rd preference, you will get another shot for your 1st and 2nd preferences only.

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

Some people just like the high driving position, and I must say I sometimes do envy them especially at stop/giveway signs/roundabouts where they can see over parked cars without having to dangerously roll forward and try to see around them. I hate it when that happens, especially in places...

I think it's the 30th of January for the Main Round.

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

That is mainly a self-initiative thing. If those drivers like their cars (even though they are petrol guzzlers) it's usually very difficult to force them to change. Drivers who drive high performance vehicles for example are unlikely to willingly change their vehicles to a smaller, less-powerful...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

I know what you're talking about. That's one of the problems with vans and trucks as well as some buses. They have a blind spot that the driver can't see, so it's up to you to keep out of their blind spot and it's up to them to merge more carefully.

    driving test hints?

Yes, I entirely support them for being harsh in many of the particulars. But for something like indicating for 4 seconds rather than 5 seconds only once throughout the test when pulling out of the kerb, it isn't very logical to fail someone just because of such as small counting discrepancy in...
