    University or High School?

I love my TAFE at the moment. This year for me has been one of gaining practical experience as a writer and developing myself as a rounded human being. I feel the two go hand in hand. We have a wonderful Co-Ordinator who shows leadership and enthusiasm and lots of support for writers. I...

    Enough Rope

I agree with you that Denton is funny. Also, he is a very tough interviewer. I wonder if any BOSers saw the Leunig interview of 8.5.2006 and enjoyed it? I did; I got so much out of it and I know the man so much better. I also enjoyed Pink (Alecia Moore) and the woman, Tana, with MS. I...

Essay & Creative Writing task help

The wonderful thing about POMO is that you don't have to rely on the traditional essay structure of introduction, supporting points and conclusion. In fact that sort of thing is discouraged in favour of hyperlinking or its text equilvalent. The more all-over-the-shop your writing can be...

Inspiring HSC story in todays paper..

The Age also takes in the Good Weekend. Well done Ben. And wasn't it great that he was able to tell Gregory what he really wanted to be? A shame that nobody read to him when he was in school, though. Is it really that common (and I'm not talking Lebanese-Australians only)? I love...

The Purpose of the text "Lionheart"

For Jesse Martin to reflect on his journey and the consequences of it, and for us to take useful good out of it in our own journies. It is a very life-changing book if you take it right. Martin wanted to change lives. To show the benefits of working together - interdependency versus...

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2006

I went to the Collingwood children's farm and saw Jeremy, Matt (from the Melbourne Zoo - great hit with the kids) and also Der Rote Punkte. I enjoyed Tales from the Erotic Cat the most, and there was some awesome clowning. And POO! That always gets kids going. Otto and Astrid know how to work...

    Jane Eyre or Persuasion?

Do you mean the one from 1996 with Anna Paquin as young Jane and Charlotte Gainsbourgh as the older Jane? I can't remember what 'changes' or 'emphases' it puts to the plot.

    Jane Eyre or Persuasion?

There are lots of Jane Eyre adaptations, so I would use the BBC one with Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton.

The Official 2006 FIFA World Cup thread.

I think Brazil or France will win. Or the USA. I hope we get beyond group stage. Mind you, I don't know a whole lot about soccer but I'm more than happy to follow the World Cup and general Socceroos action.
