If you look at the statistics Australians commit more crime than asylum seekers. Asylum seekers should not be used as a scapegoat for the problems of Australian society.

Sylvia B is an asylum seeker denier and a Holocaust denier. She doesn't understand that persecution happens around the world. There have been multiple mini Holocausts in the Asian Pacific region such as the Sri Lankan genocide committed by the Sri Lankan government. Sylvia B is attempting to do dog whistle politics and must not be tolerated.

Abbott is not more charitable than Gillard. Abbott has promised to scrap the Start Up Scholarship for university students on income support. Abbott has promised to cut the pension and cut the Newstart Allowance. Abbott wants to balance the budget on the back of the most disadvantaged people in Australia. Abbott is cruel, inhumane and unfit to govern Australia. All Tony Abbott wants to do is cut taxes for the millionaires and let middle class Australians and those who come from a low SES background suffer. Stop an Abbott government we must. Stop an Abbott government we will. Vote Labor and the Greens and we will act in the national interest, rather than the self interest of the elites.
You work for the Labor party or Greens or something don't you?

What do I deny? That asylum seekers come to asutralia? That they exist? lol

and a Holocaust denier
say what now

Yeah, but it's not Australia's fault and we shouldn't be punished for it.

Unless you dedicate absolutely all of your wealth above that which is absolutely necessary for you to survive, then you value your own happiness over the lives of starving people all over the world. So shut the fuck up with this royal we bullshit.

Under Labor there have been 950, 000 jobs created, the biggest increase in the pension system, the school kids bonus, smart investment for the future, national plan for school improvement and a triple A credit rating by all three credit rating agencies. Labor believes that investing in education is the greatest investment a nation can make. God Bless Julia Gillard, the greatest PM in Australian history.

University funding has increased by the largest amount in Australia' s history under the Rudd and Gillard governments. What Gillard is trying to do is making sure that the growth in university funding is sustainable over the long term. Tony Abbott has made promises that his cuts to university funding would be very savage and would cut to the bone. If Tony Abbott becomes PM god help us!

Doesn't Australia spend fairly little on Universities compared to the OECD average?

Our university public investment levels (as a percentage of GDP) rank 25th out of 29 advanced economies and is well below the OECD average.
Yup, assuming that statement is true ofc.

The university funding cutbacks by Labor is a vital step in ensuring that the investment in tertiary education is sustainable over the long term. Tony Abbott has repeatedly said that his cutbacks would be more severe, deep and wants to "cut to the bone." John Howard cut funding to Universities in his first term in order to pay down government debt. Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott are doing the same thing. However Tony Abbott has said that his cutbacks would be more 'far reaching."

The European countries that spend more than Australia on tertiary education are spending at unsustainable levels. Labor will do the right thing and act in the national interest.

I wonder if last nights budget had of instead been handed down in 2008 how things might be different now. For years they've been talking about delivering a tough budget but never actually done it. This comes close.

$188m for the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder and Square Kilometre Array Radio Telescopes.
$5m over two years to install noise insulation at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Thebarton, Adelaide.
$7.3m on the Pre-Election Enrolment Stimulation and Information Campaign. A program to maximise electoral participation at the 2013 federal election – presumably for those who don't yet realise that voting in Australia is compulsory.
$2m to support the news and analysis website The Conversation.
$2.5bn funding for the ABC, including an additional $129.4m over 5 years for quality programming and a $90m loan for a new office in Melbourne.

I am part of Labor's social media unit. I am campaigning in Western Australia, South Australia, NSW and Victoria and in the general Australia electorate via online. I am also campaigning in the electorate of Bennelong for the Australian Labor Party. In the 2010 federal election I campaigned in the seat of Parramatta, for Julie Owens, the local MP.

This election ladies and gentlemen will be about trust. Who do you trust to protect living standards and worker rights? Who do you trust to tackle dangerous climate change? Who do you trust to keep our economy strong and keep interest rates at historical lows? Who do you trust to make sure that the disadvantaged are not left behind? Who do I trust? I trust Labor and the Greens.

A vote for Tony Abbott is a vote for Work Choices. Tony Abbott just can't be trusted. Good riddance to the incompetent and morally bankrupt Tony Abbott.
