AP and GP are the most important but still have only appeared once every five years (it has been a few years since the last one, so this year it could pop up).

But in the past 13 years of papers, no superannuations or annuities has popped up in ext.1 exams for HSC. Could possibly be in your class exams though (if your teacher is not very nice that is).
sigh
I bet BoS will be extra bitch this year, considering the curriculum change. Going to get fully owned with any APGP stuff lol

I see some schools chucking Superannuation in their 3U papers instead of 2U papers. I will never understand.

All I did was remember the formulas somehow.

And I could not do Geometric sum without using the Sigma notation. Its similar to how I never learnt properly to draw a tree diagram and instead used combinatorics even in 2-unit class papers.

Its very bad. They are supposed to be preparing them for HSC exams, not uni.

TBH I never used tree diagrams either. I just did whatever made sense.

But at least you were good at the topic.

I was really bad at 2-unit probability but for ext.1 and ext.2 I was ok in it. It took a while to make sense of things and most students don't realise that although these questions have least working out, they should take longer than usual in the paper to understand the case thoroughly and get it right to prevent a misconception. Also, you have to be open to ideas then choose the correct one out of the ones you have thought about.

I highly agree with the part of doing whatever make sense. Sometimes I have a habit of approaching the same problem two different ways as a way to confirm my answer was correct. This also highlights the fact that one should understand and apply concepts rather than rote learn them-particularly in maths.

I wonder what topic I'm going to be doing for some of my subjects, as we are being taught completely out of order :p

Depends on what your goal is. Do you want to maximise ATAR? Do you want to enjoy your HS life? Do you want to get into a particular course?

What's up with the new boardofstudies website: "BOSTES"
Does this mean boardofstudies is no more?
Also, what's going to happen to 'boredofstudies'?
Is the site going to get a name change to reflect the new? lol

There is no prescribed or natural order.
Provided all topics follow their prerequisite topics, order should be irrelevant.
