Anbody got UAI of 90+ with low scaled subjects?e.g gen maths (1 Viewer)

all my subjects were scaled down except the extension subjects i did, so i cannot understand how i got a UAI of 95.2?! the extension subjects, which i did alright in, probably pulled me up. maybe my ranking played a part in it too, cuzi got in the top five for all my subjects.

these were my results:
ancient history - 91%
community and family studies - 92%
adv english - 86%
ext 1 eng - 40/50
ext 2 eng - 44/50
history ext - 45/50
society and culture - 94%

Dude, you got above 90 in three of your non-extension subjects, scaling doesn't hurt you at all when you get band 6s.

Congrats to you people, I'm doing similiar "easy" subjects. I just hope to god I do good next year to get above 90.

hey dazzi do u have to do assesment n test for prelim too? or just quick skim through it.

there are a couple of basic assessments but you dont have to pass or do assaignments or anything and if you've already done the prelim for that subject i dont think u have to redo it. at tafe prelim basically takes 6 weeks, it took till june for bio which was awful as there was not much time for the hsc course!

HSC Marks:
Stand eng 81 band 5
chemistry 82 band 5
biology 92 band 6
Maths ext 1 89 band E3
Maths ext 2 79 band E3

Only got 1 band 6 and ended up with 95.9 :S

im doing 2 unit maths, adv eng, IPT, business, legal & studies of religion 1
thats 11 units
my worst subject is maths-i got 48% in that for my 1st assesment
im ok in subjects like legal & business
but i do adv english which i find hard...
and ipt scales down app...
so am i screwed for my UAI?

i did pdhpe- 86 and hospitality- 86 and business studies-90
( as well as music20-93, maths adv 82 and eng adv 95 )

and got 95.4 so yes it is possible to get a high uai with low scaled subjects, because as long as you do relatively well in them, they wont scale you down

i.e. only .27% got band 6 hospitality and like 8% or something in band 5 therefore 86 wasnt bad and scaled me up ..

i checked and got better uai with hospitality than i would have getting 75 in 3u maths as it was relatively better than others.

when you did your hsc at tafe this year was it very stressful and miserable since you have to cram 2 years of work into one year (or 3 terms!! as you mentioned).
care to elaborate (explain).

Do What You Like (and are good at)

When other kids did maths and science I had society and culture and drama.
I ended up with 99.60! It was great. Do what you like, but don't forget you have to work at it (well except in S&C, it's the biggest piece of nothing). Goodluck!
