Our school did perms and combs in year 11 as well.
2u: algebra and arithmetic, functions, trig
3u: further algebra and functions and inequalities, quadratics reducible to equations, rational functions, trig
Why the fck do ur 3u topics look dodgy af?
We did circle geo first and pree much scared off half the class

They taught you circle geometry before they taught you how to do 4/(x+3)<2?

"hard" factorising?

What is this foreign concept you speak of.
I would say that factorising can become quite hard especially when you start looking at Galois Theory.

ooh I know this
you have to multiply both sides by (x+3)^2, because you don't know the sign of the expression

3u student
Don't even need to, just take x=-3 as one point, and solve the inequality as an equality.

I believe Baulko has done it already. And my school is doing it in around a few weeks for the normal Yr 11.

I hate the name "Perms and Combs" for this topic, for two reasons:

(1) It suggest that all counting is done using just these two techniques

(2) It sounds like a hairdressing course

lol really. It's a shortened way of saying "permutation and combination"

But it sounds better short than long
