A net book always seems more feasible than some mini Iphone with no flash, no camera etc.

it can go on facebook, so yes, it's absolutely necessary for uni
Yeah but it lacks flash so no Farmville xD

Also having no multi tasking on this will mean all procasinators who buy the ipad for uni will be doomed lol.

Better to get a notebook/tablet hybrid, theres a few out atm and now they even have netbook/tablets.

There will be certain tasks I think the iPad will be more suitable than others for Uni related work e.g. reading lectures notes in lectures.

So if there's no flash, does that mean no Youtube or Adobe reader?

Oh yes and it's probably not wise to flash it around when commuting to USyd.

Hardly worth buying for Uni.
Definitely no where near as productive as a proper notebook/netbook. (Pen and paper would do the job better)

LOL. Since when was flash 'Adobe reader'?

You can read PDF documents.

And you can watch YouTube videos with the YouTube app (like the iPhone and iPod Touch). But you can't access other flash websites/'tools'.

I find it ridiculous that out of all the problems with the iPad, people would make this out to be the biggest.

Meh, flash is soon going to die anyway, HTML5 is going to be industry standard soon.

iPads cost $499 - $699. And $629 - $829 if you want 3G.

I got a netbook a few days ago for $390, with almost four times more GB than the largest capacity model of iPad, a headphone jack, USB ports, more battery life, and a keyboard that you can actually use.

iPads are a waste.
Just picked mine up for $370.

I won't ever go back to the good guys, worst customer service I've honestly ever had.
