Both would get 96 for their assessment mark. If the relative difference is that much, and maintained, the 2nd person gets 95.99 - rounded to 96. Of course, you wouldn't have fractions that small.

Well my rankings are absolutely dreadful!!
BUT I avoided last in all subjects!(Close in 3)
I do Adv English.Maths,PDHPE,CAFS,Food tech,Bio...expecting abot 80 in Bio,Maths and English...85+ in others!!

I go to a selective High..ranked about 40...
Can I still get an 80 UAI??????????

If you share a rank with someone the teacher has to determine who they think will do better in the external exam and they get the higher rank.

I have never had to do that.

I have simply sent in the ranks as equal and the exam has split them.

Where do you people get this stuff? If you have the same assessment rank, you will ALWAYS have the same moderated assessment mark.

I mightn't have been clear - the exam will split them in the sense that they will probably get different exam marks and thus get different HSC marks.


They will get the same assessment mark as they were equal. If they come equal first they will get the average of the top two exam marks (not the top exam mark outright).

I'm ranked 32/102 and I'm not sure I'll get 85...

Has anyone recieved an incorrect rank yet??? I actually got one for Eng Adv...but it is a better rank than what I had orriginally (or so I think) - should I actually report it or not? Is this terribly unethical of me to want this better rank???

one of my ranks is different from my report...but I don't really care because I don't want to talk to the teacher who gave it to me.

Anyway, just wondering, I was the only person in my school who done a subject and obviously, was ranked 1st. But do I get ranked 1st or ranked last?
