So, in essence, it's not the time change that I'm upset about, but the fact that FIFA is unfairly treating Oceania and CONMEBOL .. it's not hard to see who gets the rough end of the bargain.
just wait when we leave Oceania...there'll be nothing going for them :(

i feel sad about that

but hey, FIFA is the Fucking Idiotic Football Association to a few of us..and they live upto it whenever the WCQ come around....

it's unfair, i remember when they said we would get a full spot...and then took it away, that hurt. As a football/soccer fan and player for the large majority of my life all i want to see is Australian football get a fair go (the media seemingly hated football until recent times), and then once hope is created it's wiped away and "forgotten" by those at the top...

i hope we qualify, and if we lose fairly, so be it...that's football, but it's not fair if the federation favors ONE country to another based on fucking old history.... South american football is great because of Brazil & the Argies...uruguay are an ok team, but if it wasnt for B&A then the area would be looked upon worse than Oceania

it sucks....but i hope we win

did anyone see the back of telegraph today? now, unfortunately this is the only time in my life i've read it and i had to endure this crap

i mean say what you like about los celestes "tactics" and mind games and the like, but a think this was going a little too far - for a professional journalost and newspaper, supposed to be fair, neutral and alll that
the headline in size 80 font was
"TRAMPOSOS*"
"*Tha's Spanish for Cheaters"

Now come one, that's too far, really

Nine, Seven and the toolbags at the Telegraph really shit me when it comes to football talk. They speak the most generic shit, and the constant beating of Uruguay as cheaters... it really shits me. How exactly do they 'cheat'? A few bad tackles here and there... thats called a foul, dirty at times but not cheating.

At least the Herald calls it "football".

who gives a shit though. theyve been slagging us off over in their papers too for a long time. the bastards managed to politick their way out of having to use fifa's first choice refs and now theyve fucked us up with the kickoff times too. the tele is a rag no doubt, but i don't see why you'd be shedding tears for the uruguayans.

i hope we stuff em....

Hahah I know :p I need something to get me the fuck out of bed at 7am. I go to bed at 3am so 7am is really fucking early.
This is an incentive :)

Once I saw this amazing opportunity (for which I wish I had a million $). It must've been a miscalculation, and it was some RU final game I think (so no draws!)
Team 1 Handicap +6: $2.10
Team 2 Handicap -6: $2.10

So if someone was to bet $100,000 on each of the results: massive profit!

thing to remember is; that all journalists are bastards who's sole aim is to sell newspapers, so they write shit like we saw in the tele.

journo's are all cunts, whether they be aussie or uruguayan ;)

It looks as if Hiddink will favour either a 4-5-1 formation with King Dukes as a lone striker, or a 4-1-2-3 with two wide midfielders, for the first clash.

this is what ronaldo said, on theworldgame.com.au:

"The South American players, the Argentines and the Uruguayans in particular use more gamesmanship and always try to provoke their opponents into losing their temper and getting a red card," Ronaldo said in The Star in London.

"These two countries are the specialists in provocation."

"When the ball is up the other end of the field, they kick you from behind, they insult your mother, they try to provoke you."

aaah its getting close now..

Yep, those are the two systems Hiddink has been trialling during the training sessions. I'd rather go with the 4-5-1 and pack that MF, considering they're playing strikers who aren't your traditional Centre Forwards and they'll be roaming around the paddock. Also, given the fact that they're playing 2 attacking MFs, of which one is Recoba, 4-5-1 would be the way to go. If that system is employed then we'd be aiming to hit Uruguay on the breaks where the 2 wingers can advance to the point where they play just behind the lone striker ie. Viduka, and turn it into 4-3-2-1.

With the alternative 4-1-2-3, the three forwards are seemingly to comprise of Dukes, Kewell, and Thompson, from the training sessions so far. To me that's no way to go about the away leg, it's more likely to be a system favoured for Sydney.

Bresciano sayz hez fit to play in the first leg, accordin to hiz column in The World Game website. That should be a boost to Australia.

4-5-1 soundz about right, however Hiddink can alwayz use a surprisin line up come matchday.

4-5-1 sounds good to me, just I heard Recoba was playing in a much wider role than expected at their training. I wonder how Hiddink will combat this change.

I like 4-5-1 because depending on how the team reacts to the formation, it can turn into 4-3-3, 4-1-3-2, etc. When you look at how Mourinho uses it, its hardly just a defensive formation, because players can still get up the park and attack. My biggest worry is that a 4-5-1 will have the team sitting too far back, where we wait and contain the Uruguay attack. If this happens, i kinda get the feeling we'll get slaughtered, its suicidal to sit back on teams in South America. Defense starts at the top of the field, and as much as Hiddink can sink this into the team, I'm worried he hasnt been there long enough to get the message through.
