How do you manage to seem interested without being clingy at the same time?

1) Don't call at a completely fucking random time of day, early in the morning and late at night, even in the holidays I'm only up till 3 or so.
2) Don't call and winge about your parents/siblings/work/school.
3) Don't ring more than twice in one attempt. If I missed the first two (or didn't answer) the next 5 aren't going to make a difference.
4) Don't ever, ever put your phone on private number (maybe that's just me, I can't fucking stand it) as I won't be able to call you back.

1) Do send me an SMS just saying "what's up?" every now and then.
2) Do call me sometime the following week, in the afternoon or evening.
3) Do invite me to do something if that's what you want. When girls do that "but he has to ask ME out" crap it's fucking retarded.

Don't take it personally until you've actually spoken to them, any number of factors could contribute to no replies (eg no credit, dead battery). SMS is the bane of any sort of relationship.

No no, like, everything was fine and normal. And it was the usual just talking about work and what was going on, and then he just didnt reply to one yesterday.

Then I sent him a 'how was last night' one today and he hasn't replied.
