if your teacher is right about 13 (which i put B for)
I am 100% sure that 13 is A, why would you test algorithms AFTER you coded the solution?

Who in the name of diddly fuck is Susan Ross? Is she your sister or something? =\

Me needing a textbook was not in relation to you not having your question booklet. Merely a poor attempt at humour, and to express my dissapointment that I bought secondary resources for each subject, except software design. I derived the bulk of my notes from this textbook, and i've been comparing it with fatmuscles .pdf pack and alot of my information is not necessarily wrong, but its not as accurate as it should be.

Actually in some cases just plain wrong.

Also, just curious as to how you managed to link the question booklet to a textbook. Mind explaining? cheers ^_^

"When documentating a software solution in the 'testing and evaluation' phase, which of the following would be of us?"

So basically, when you're writing about the shit you did in the testing and evaluation phase, what would be of most use to the people who look at that documentation?

Really its a toss-up between A and B, but B makes the most sense to make because you'd like to see WHAT the test data did and how it acted upon the system, if you were looking at just the test data CASE tools generated that doesn't really show you anything about what happened during the testing and evaluation phase. Desk checking atleast allows you to see actual/expected results.

yay 20/20!
9 is definitely c. Single line stepping is when you go line by line through the code and check its logic. Program traces actually traces the variable's after each line.

Wel there you go.

Heinemann Software Design and Development by Alan Fowler...
Published in 2000.

Fuck me.

Should I still return it?

EDIT: 16/20 with answers above...i'll live with that I guess.
EDIT2: Christ that's before they rewrote the syllabus. My school is fucking poor =(
Oi! Oi, Skullduggery afoot. Allan Fowler is my Software Design teacher. I have his textbook - and while it says that, it explains it - and the diagram is correct.

"For example, in an office some of the staff may use a new word-processing system, while the rest of the staff use the old systems."

PLUS it has a diagram!!!! and the phased conversion method is listed above it - and looks and is explained differently dude.

looks like I got 17-19/20 for this :) STOKED! guys remember marking centres sometimes come across dodgey MC and as such they allow 2 answers if they think there's a case for some of these.

Let me know:

1 A
2 B
3 D
4 A
5 B
6 C
7 D
8 A
9 D <-C?
10 C
11 D
12 C
13 A
14 C
15 D
16 B
17 B
18 A
19 C <-B?
20 B
I deskchecked Number 19 during the test, and done it again here, and I continue to get B) 10.

And looking at the algorithm, I'm thinking B is right for 19.

And for Number 9), I put c.
As that is exactly what program traces do, compared to single line stepping which has to HALT the execution of the program and debug each line at a time.

So, If I am right, then I would have scored 19/20 =D

UMMM 9 IS ACTUALLY B) Breakpoints
Evidence:
Quote from Excel HSC Software Design And Devlopment:
"Setting break points is the simple technique of temporarily or permanently stopping excecution of a program part of the way through the program..........
......While the program is stopped, the programmer can interrogate the value of variables." (i underlined it to make emphasis)

but im still not so sure, since they want "output statements" and the only output statement given is "flags" which made sense to me and is why i chose it in the exam.
either way, i depending on this i got 19 or 20/20 :D
