Jewish stuff? That's not what we're talking about.

We're talking about sects like Presbyterians, Catholics, Uniteds, Anglicans, Born-agains, etc ad nauseum.

denomination pfffffffffffffft.

soz. i am a Christian. not 'religious' religion is stupid. I am a Christ-follower... not a institutionalised muon. I go to a Church, yes, but thats because Church is a gathering of Christians.. thats why i go, not because i adhere to a specific creed of denomination

the Bible is truth and it outlines salvation and instructs your life. religion is set up by power figures to control the masses.
I don't believe that the Bible is Truth. Why is it neccessary to read the Bible to believe in God? The bible is flawed.

Once again why you should keep your mouth shut. If you dont believe that the Bible is true then dont make assumptions about the Christian faith and how it works.

but sometimes jezzabelle denominations occur because of the different beliefs in christianity for example, mormans belive that jesus is not the son of god or somehting rather.... now thats not something that the catholics or orthodox would jsut simply accept cos matters such as this, the beliefs of christianity are not taken lightly by some denominations.
im orthodox and i tell you, everything is taken seriously and in accordance to the bible and jesus' teachings.
most denominations want unity, but if an agreement is not reached upon matters such as the nature of christ, which caused the split in the first place then we will not be seeing a gigantically massive gathering of chrisitans holding hands and singing songs :rolleyes:

After I get a chance to read The Da Vinci Code. You have any other suggested Christian readings?

and to the people interested in the origins of the devil/ lucifer:

Isaiah 14: 12 -

12 How you have fallen from heaven,
O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart,
"I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. [3]
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High."
15 But you are brought down to the grave,
to the depths of the pit.

Yep in summary, I believe the angel betrayed God and hence he was banished to Hell

Who says I don't know how it works. I did attend Church sessions. I'm saying it could be better, and from previous posts it is flaw eg. Noah's Ark and the Flooding of the World.

Well, obviously we know more about the workings of your faith than you do - whether we believe in it or not is academic.

i admire the fact that you believe in the one god, and not the heirarchy of the christian system.

there should be no preists as they have mammon.

superbird as much as i appreciate your uhhhh support....

God instructs us specifically to be gentle and patient not to bash people around when we are having these discussions, as all you are doing is evoking quarrel so pplease stop telling ppl to shutup your embarressing me!

I refer to :

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

I find that the only beneficial factor in attend Church is the discussion of the actions we must take so that we don't deviate from the path of God. Having a priest take lead in more a one sided argument as he is more or less imposing his views and interpretations. A discussion is the recognise other's ideas and if so implement them based on whether it was good advice and/or applies to you. The after session interactions are also great to meet people.

I will argue that God exists in whatever way I feel comfortable. I don't see how that affects or embarresses you.

It embarasses her because it shows that you are not above insulting people to get your (flawed) opinion across, which is decidedly Un-Christian (according to that Bible verse, which you take as law, do you not?).

1 Peter 3:13 - 17
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." 15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

I am just saying... you wont achieve much by the way you are going about it
