Yeh thats what we were told... I dont get how schools know who got highest atar then? I guess this is why my school doesnt use atar for dux calculations

Schools trust that any student who is in contention for dux would be willing to share their ATAR with the school.

Highest ATAR gets Dux at my school. No extra points are given for effort or overcoming hardships or anything. It's very black and white.
