i thought it was c because

debenture = external long-term debt

a is to 'reduce financial risk' but by borrowing more, one would assume you're increasing your financial risk.

and then everything else seems... wrong... imo

therefore c
I chose C
Then crossed out
Chose D

I think 14 is B. A debenture is 'a long-term security yielding a fixed rate of interest, issued by a company and secured against assets.' (googled it). By issuing debentures it wouldn't be like, say, a mortgage - where your collateral assets would be at risk.
Yes, they can be secured against an asset (not always), although that has nothing to do with the question. A debenture doesn't 'provide security over assets' - a business offers assets as security, which is completely different.

The answer is C, as the other choices are plainly wrong.

I thought it was a, because a debenture uses a fixed interest rate, which secures it from increasing interest rates in economy which reduces financial risk if interest rates are too high in the case of a recession.. but that's just me lol
I crossed out c and d straight away. Yea I was thinking like that aswell. i think is A , cos it specifically said debentures and you maintain control and owenership in all external sources of finance
