Okay, there is a complete difference between studying eight to ten hours per night, on a regular basis, and studying/cramming before major exams. I know that I will be studying before my HSC and trials really hard, maybe up to ten hours a day if you like. But only before those exams, when they really matter. At this stage, I am more concerned with having a good grasp on everything, living a
decent, balanced life (which means, actually going out and rolling in the nearby hills or whatever).
This doesn't mean I don't care about my studying. Of course I do. But eight-to-ten hours, firstly, is beyond insane by any measure, and secondly, defies what qualified, academic scholars have told us, which suggests we should be aiming for three hours a day. However, if you choose to study eight to ten hours a day, you have incredible determination, but you are missing out on a lot, including being a child. There are only so many years left to live carefree.
