yah wat zahid said was rite, thouh some of thse points are questionable, i mean think about america vs china without nukes would be a complete disaster for america, because there are chinese spread throughout the world, so nowadays superpowers status is more bending towards economical power. technology is well spread out at present, but the i think the distinguishing of america and the rest of the worlds is its economy, which currently is outstanding, but as i said china and india are booming.

Who is America in debt to? China mainly, isn't it? Gives them a measure of power.

How does being in debt not mean anything, hotshot?

"A superpower is a state with the ability to influence events or project power on a wide scale. In modern terms, this may imply an entity with a strong economy, a large population, and strong armed forces, including air power and satellite capabilities, and a huge arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. Superpowers often have colonies, or satellite states.
The term superpower appeared as a neologism in 1922. Prior to World War II, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Soviet UnionThe Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR ( Russian: ; tr. It shares land borders with Canada in, and the British EmpireThe British Empire in the early decades of the 20th century, held sway over a population of 400 500 million people (roughly a quarter of the world's population), and covered nearly 30 million square kilometres, (roughly two-fifths of the world's land area were sometimes labeled as superpowers, although the more common term was great powers.

But due to economic stresses, the loss of overseas colonial empires and civil war, not all of these states could maintain their relative hegemony.

As the Cold War developed, it became clear that only two indisputable great powers remained: the United States and the Soviet Union. Superpowers became the name given to the Great Powers under the Cold War context; differentiating the bipolar situation from the previous multipolar world. This situation lasted until the political collapse of the Soviet Union circa 1991."

It's funny how people think it funny or ok that America gets bombed or destroyed or just plain disappears off the face of this earth.

But then i wonder where will the movies, the music and the cloth come from?

As much as we criticise America's cultural imperialism, we want that culture.

on regards to wat waffy said "ammerica the only superpower" is wrong there are a lot more super powers, xcept that US the superpower is like stronger then the next 5 superpowers combined together, tho any superpower will cause great devastation to any other country, and they will surely bleed.

I thought there are 3 super-powers:
  1. America
  2. China
  3. Russia

But seeing as Russia is pov, it isn't *really* a super-power, and there is always the conspiracy that the Jews control everything.
those are the main 3, if it goes longer,

4. France
5. Britian???
6. India??
etc.

I love the way people just shrug Russia off as though it died with the dissolution of the USSR or something.

That's when it officially stopped being a superpower.

I think a superpower is a country that is able to act unilaterally by itself without fear of international reprisal.
As America has demonstrated.

I'd prefer if Australia did not become a superpower. Doesn't anybody else get a feeling that any problems we currently face would be small compared to those we'd have if we were a superpower?

Australia is a middle power. Australia has intentions for playing the deputy role in the Southern Eastern area, but as a middle power they must play a cooperation role.
