I wrote to all the Attorney Generals about the game classification debate.

So many mixed or skewed answer i gave up on political figures giving a yes/no answer.
I was asking exclusively about the detaining of children on christmas island. Or do we libertarians entertain the bigoted idea that liberty is for citizens and citizens only.

And i was asking why Australians are being fucked over by draconian laws that need a massive update?

But yeah kids shouldnt be locked up, foster them out and fuck their parents off?

They shouldn't be but: right to play a computer game? Slightly outweighed I think by the right of the most vulnerable in the world to seek asylum. Yet the only noises of dissent seem to be coming from that bastion of kindness Bob Brown and the elegant pen of David Marr.

Im not saying the arguments are the same on any level, just saying getting a straight answer from a Y/N question is impossible.

Equally mandatory? Is that a joke?
Go read up on the internet censorship in China and the proposed scheme here and tell me you don't see the similarities. Do you really think that it's a good idea for Australia to adopt the same methods that the Chinese government uses to suppress political dissent and freedom of expression to filter out a whole lot of content on the internet which have nothing to do with child porn?

I don't believe in invoking liberty as an oratorical device to protect my own self interests is what I mean by believing in true liberty.
But of course not, you dismissed homosexuality and euthanasia as absurdities. You only believe in your brand of "liberty" as long as it conforms to your religious views.

Regarding protesting I have written to bonehead Laurrie thankyou, I've also written to some MP's that I don't think are boneheads imploring them to kick up a stink if they can, am I to assume then that you have written to your local mp? That you are one of the faces I see volunteering at house of welcome each week?
That's funny, you assume that I have as much free time as you do. I believe in a lot of things, but if I was cranking out angry letters to my local MPs about all the issues I feel passionate about I would be starving and living under a bridge. Not everyone has the luxury of time and a five hundred thousand dollars trust fund whilst going through college.

Also it's pretty funny how you go on and on about the detention of children on Christmas Island while failing to address the bigger issue of Australia's immigration policy in general. It's like all those hipsters that went "omgzzzz free Tibet omgzzz stop opressing tha peasful Tibetans111!!!" during the last olympics while the injustice committed by the Chinese government against other Chinese was ignored.

you know what, the funny thing is that ignorant idiots like yourself always go on and on and on about how the filter is supposedly about stopping child porn while in fact it is not.

seriously some of you sheeple are so willing to give up your freedoms you might just as well take off your pants and ask the state to fuck you up the ass.
This is where you ultra-libertarians miss the point, watching high definition child rape footage is not an intrinsic 'freedom of ours', and the act of removing it does not violate any of our inalienable 'rights'.

Many people in this thread seem to think that because they view child rape footage in the privacy of their own home, that they are somehow 'free' from the normal laws of society.
This 'laissez-faire' fundamentalism has one major flaw, and that is the fact that by allowing graphic children pornography to remain 'just a click away' sends a message to society, and that message is 'what your doing is OKAY, you're free to access this material'.

This message acts to implicitly condone the child pornography industry, which will encourage investment in it and thus promote it's expansion, which will perpetuate the suffering of the children who are forced to 'act' in these horrid video's.

You are completely ignoring the extent of Chinese censorship and the severity of the punishments which is the key difference.

But of course not, you dismissed homosexuality and euthanasia as absurdities. You only believe in your brand of "liberty" as long as it conforms to your religious views.
I dismissed the suggestion that they would be censored content is absurd you dimwit.

They know about computers? o_O?

I don't support the filter I just oppose paranoid hysteria.
Fair enough. But what makes you feel so assured that abuse of power won't be an issue?

Lemon, you seem to be continuing your support of the proposed filter despite clear, repeated explanations of:

  1. The fact that child pornography often travels via methods not covered by the filter (e.g. P2P),
  2. How easy it is to quickly replace a blocked URL, and
  3. More efficient alternative uses of our national resources in combating child pornography, such as investing in the AFP.
Your view seems to be best summed up by this tongue-in-cheek comment from the above euthanasia article:
Phillip Nitschke is trying to bypass the filter? He must be trying to download child pornography.

Tell me I'm wrong and I might be more willing to listen to your ideas for beating off pedos.
