Says the person with an uber-lame nickname such as yours
there there, i knew someone just couldn't take it and needs to have a cry. uber-lame nickname (pfffffffffffff) Year12 (pffffffffffffff) Playboy avatar (pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff), (why do you try so hard?)

I'm sorry Year12, but listening to your feedback is what makes this forums entertaining. :headbang: It's like "on the 8th day, God created lamers like Year12...... CURSE THE GOD"

hah im one of the bludgers he's talkin about. i kno if i tried i can do well. however i have realised alternatives to life and tertiary education. i havent studied for a single test/assessment in yr11 and 12. however im about to put my head down and see wat i can achieve in the hsc, but it wont take my life away. ill still relax and have some fun. yes the hsc is important, but it aint everything.

Hey I just wanna say I can relate to mito, yeah i have friends that bludge and go pubbing and clubbing.. some do both and are the topping all their subjects, while others just decide they get bored in exams and write n/a all over their papers.. I just think that's their choice and no one can really stop them.. I make a choice to want to go to uni and make the most of it and people just want a hsc and then work the rest of their life and get drunk and wake up one day thinking 'i want to go to law school' nah but i mean its their life and so be it.
i agree tho that u gotta make the most of it and yeah ur essay moved me.. somewhat sounded like a gilmore girls thing how they ramble on.. no probs im a fast reader
good luck to u!

hmm. i think you need to see beyond the HSC that's all i can say. it's not the be all and end all, yr12 is your final year at school, so what is wrong with having a bit of fun? there are two extreme circumstances you can find yourself in after the HSC:

- having gotten a less than satisfactory result and wonder what you would've gotten if you had studied
- having gotten a good result and wondered whether that number there was worth a whole year of your teenage life.

i suppose yr12 is about balance. it's also about the choice each individual has as to how they wish to live their life. the hsc has a varying degree of significance to everyone. i just don't find your idea about how much a number would determine the rest of your life particularly healthy. loosen up :p
i couldn't've said it better myself. everyone listen to her !!

oh yeah and mitochondria, although your intentions i guess are good, you really have to start learning about being a people-person.

I think you have to learn that it's a good writing skill to be able to phrase things so you are putting a point across while still being succinct. Writing a whole page doesn't make your argument seem any more or less intelligent, and it saves the rest of us a lot of time.

whoa! i can't believe i waded through all that bitterness and emerged alive.

Life is too short, i do things that make me happy. Sometimes that might be watching a movie or working out a hard 4U mechanics question (yes sometimes getting the right answer to a maths problem does make me happy)

But i've realised fully this year how important it is just to do what is right for you as a person. I socialise, go the parties occasionally, watch loads of TV, and yes i probably should have worked a lot harder and knowing my full potential i'm quite far below that this year. But i've understood that the stuff i've experienced this year just in terms of friendships etc has far surpassed any happiness i would have gained from a 0.1 or 0.2 improvement in my UAI.

So if you think i suck mito, well then i do, but i accept that. Why can't you except the fact that everyone is different and value different things and before i start sounding like the bloody english syllabus i'm going to stop.

I agree with muldersgun.

(Unfortunate for me, I can't apply that philosophy at Uni. I have no choice. If I screw up, I'm stuck for another year. And that can never come to pass. :()
