AS history has shown a raw mark in maths of ~90/120 will getyou a band 6

I really don't get how it can be so low I mean 75% in maths is not overly hard to obtain

What gives.

I hardly think somebody ranked 15/68 in 2U Maths should be making such comments.

Most subjects have around the same cutoff, according to the raw marks database posted somewhere on these forums, the approximate cutoffs are:

English (Advanced) 77/100
Chemistry 72/100
Physics 76/100
Mathematics 94/120 = 78/100
Mathematics Extension 1 57/84 = 69/100
Mathematics Extension 2 76/120 = 64/100
Biology 79/100

As far as I can see, there's nothing out of the ordinary there.

Are you sure it includes Ext 2 people since they don't do 2u classes anymore in year 12 if they are Ext 2?

For many people, it takes quite a bit of work to get 94/120 in a 2 unit exam. Maths is the kind of subject where once you understand it, its very easy to do well. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but with many subjects (i.e. modern, law at uni) you can understand the work but it is still quite difficult to do well. However, understanding the content in maths takes quite a fair bit more work than either modern or law. Hence the reason why the raw mark is low, because many arent willing to put in the work. Thats my view anyway.

Yep, BUT. It's important to remember that they're only an estimate. However, they're estimated from the raw marks of numerous people over the past 5 or so years, so they're reasonably accurate.

don't worry too much about raw marks and scaling and all that stuff.
jUST TRY YOUR BEST, AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE.
If you worry too much about scaled mark and all that, you will get too caught up in it and will not put in your best effort because (" i only need a 70 to get me band 6")

BUT, IN SAYING THAT...... whats the average mark a MX2 student needs for an E4 ( yes, abit hypocritical, but i just wanna know)

ALSO TO OP,
2unit maths doesnt scale very much... pretty much what you solve correctly, is what you get...
so don't worry too much about scaling
