I'm jealous of the people here who got complimentary topics such as Germany, Speer, European Theatre. Does anybody have any inklings so to say as to what the two questions for the Pacific Theatre will be?

Meh. I got 5 in mind. Pearl Harbor, early advances, Guadalcanal, Home Front and A-bomb.

we'd all LIKE to know what is in the exam, but sadly that isn't possible.
Safest bet is to stick to the syllabus and go from there.

Hey HSCers, any advice (now that you can fully reminisce) on how I can start a full, wholesome year of Modern History? Like, making notes before we learn the stuff, do lots of practice essays? I'm really bad with the Source Qs, any pointers with regards to that?
Cheers, and good luck.

Don't wait until two days before the exams to start studying.

I'm so excited...I love Modern. <3

I'm expecting the Role of Women and Reasons for the stalemate for WWI.

Then for China(1927 - 1949), I'm not sure what they'll ask

Then Sun Yat-Sen - Not sure either

Then Indochina, not sure again. :p

I love how my topics all flow on from one another. It's very handy! (Well, apart from WWI...but hey, the China/Indochina ones work lovely together!!)

Good luck to all. Yeah, I'm in the same boat as some of you. Have Maths tomorrow. But hey, Modern is my best subject, with Maths being not so nice in comparison, heh.

For WWI I really hope it's women as well. Or the role of the Big Three.
I'd kill myself if they asked a specific question on like... Verdun or Passchendaele like they did a couple of years ago.

I'm really hoping there's a question on the end of the Cold War. I love all the Reagan/Gorbachev shiznit. I hate the beginning of it.
Why am I talking about modern when I have maths tomorrow?

More like mid-80s (or it was when I was on the aligning panel and I don't see any reason for it to have changed much in the last couple of years since I stopped doing that side of things).

ALL modern marks are aligned up unless the raw mark was 100.
