I know that on the cover of past HSC Papers it says Diagrams are to be drawn in pencil, however considering this year's exams are to be scanned, wouldn't that mean that there are high chances that your diagram won't show up after being scanned? :/

Also, should labelling and titles be done in pen or pencil?
And flowcharts - should they be in pen or pencil?

Thank you :)

Its fine to use pencil in diagrams, flow charts and labelling for science exams. They will account for any possible issues since theyre ASKING us to use pencil

Ah, true! So not only the boxes but also the words within the flow-chart should be done in pencil then?

hahaha true! thank you :)

Would rep but need to spread..

Our teacher said pen reguard less......
I don't think that's a good idea considering the front page does say all diagrams in pencil though..

Yeah, thats what we were told. I doubt we'll get a flow chart though, last yr they had a huge one in chem
Pencil it is then. And yeah I know but just in case!
Thank you!

Pencil should be fine. No need to worry. I've also done my circle geo question in 3U with pencil. Even though i got it wrong. (I assumed the line was straight lol). :(

Are you guys going to do mutiple choice in pencil as well? I've been doing it for the past couple of exams and I wonder if it's ok.

Multiple choice is much easier to correct when using pen. Diagrams and graphs, not so much.

In my chem trial (independent paper), i drew the graph in pen. The paper looked so ugly after crossing out the incorrect graph and drawing the correct graph over it. Lost 2 marks for it. :chainsaw:

Do the graph in pencil first and then go over with a pen if you have the time.

The MC is scanned, you should do it in pen.
Tell your supervisor you have been doing them in pencil, just in case the scanner doesn't pick it up and you end up getting 0 for it.
Better safe than sorry!

Our examiner said to do MC in pen cos if you do it in pencil, the machine doesn't pick it up and spits it back out, meaning someone has to hand mark it :/
