true but the only thing really doing that to us is the water supply, which can be slowly fixed with more funding from the government. sydney and melbourne could become as big as paris and london.
Sure, we'll just throw money at our innumerable ecological problems and that'll magic up some water, food, land that isn't completely fucked from mineral depletion and erosion and salinity.

These are only minor problems. There has never been any money spent on them before. They will surely go away as soon as we throw some cash at the problem. Every ecological problem can be solved if you have enough money to spend on it. There is definetly no limits to the amount of resources you can consume and exploit at an exponentially increasing rate over an infinite time-frame.

Australia has an abundance of freshwater sources, reliable and ample rainfall, no real problem introduced species, and the best, most fertile soil in the world.

This guy is a lebo.

How do you know for sure he's a lebo?
Thats a generalisation because he has an earing and the haircut does not make him lebanese.
Lebanese people are middle eastern. Many middle eastern people look similar - dark hair, dark eyes.
Just because he fits into your category of what you classify lebanese, it does not make him so.
How do you know his parents aren't syrian or israeli?
To me he looks Maori.
So stop giving Lebo people a bad name by clamining that everyone who has a hair cut like so and wears an earing is automatically Lebo.
There are a lot of good lebanese out there who are not recognised.
But just to inform you of some who are; Marie Bashir - Governor of NSW.
Sir Nicholas Shehadie - greatest Australian rugby player who has been dubbed by the Queen.
Now go and ask the guy if he's lebo, then get back to me because I am Lebanese and I am sick to death of the racist comments.
Just because he fits into the media's description of what is lebo, just because there have been a few bad lebanese people making headlines (like so with many caucasians, asians, americans, european) DOES NOT MAKE HIM LEBANESE.
It's people like who instigate tension between cultures, get an education - not everything you hear in books, from other people or see on television is fact you need to go out into the real world and meet people so you stop judging.

A woodsman once told me a story of a 'Lebo'. He said they make mournful sounds.

So wrap yourself in a Hezbollah flag about it.

Australia is now classed as a racist nation in the international arena, because of these bogan high school drop outs that only represent a small % of our population!

The collapse of the wide, brown land - Paul Sheehan - www.smh.com.au
I was going to address the first point but this post pretty much put it down perfectly.

But just to add - it's pretty ignorant to think that Australia can sustain cities the size of New York or Paris as someone suggested. Even more so to say that just because our cities aren't as big this naturally means that Australia can easily support them.

Being the driest continent on the planet apart from Antarctica - our arable land at best is 7%. We have a number of problems with regard to introduced species such as cane toads and morning glory erradicating much of the natural ecosystems; widespread drought and salinisation of our few remaining freshwater sources and on average less than 500mm of rainfall in most of the continent.

That said, I'm not talking about the race side of things. just the ecological; in regard to race -- its absurd to believe that other cultures' ecological footprint in Australia is any larger than the main group.

However there are definately strongly reoccuring reasons why events such as these are happening which going into just prompts a long and angry debate :p

I think that many of the people that engaged in the violent behaviour are genuinely stupid. But the real issue here is whether there message echoes any real problem.
No, it doesn't.

Look at how many jobs are being lost to overseas
Clearly the jobs being lost to overseas aren't a problem since we still have one of the lowest unemployment levels in the world. It's not a zero sum game.

and the amount of immigrants in Australia that can't speak English proficiently enough to blend in.
I haven't noticed this problem. Maybe you're autistic and have trouble understanding people?

Also the multicultural aspect is another issue. Multiculturalism doesn't work. It's obvious.
Actually, multiculturalism does work (just an FYI: it's not new, and has been working for decades) and you just gave away your xenophobic agenda by ending your message with that claim.

In the 1950s Australia had 0 unemployment... and have you not been to Sydney?

I personally can't see the logic in migrants being unable to speak the language of the country they choose to move to. You don't have to be autistic to not understand a language brought from overseas.

You also don't need to be a xenophobe to have a problem with people coming to live in an English-speaking country and not knowing English.

Who says there's a true multicultural nation and it works anyway? True multiculturalism works where there is NO MAIN CULTURAL GROUP. This is why it hasn't worked; there still is one, and a lot of people don't agree with it and would prefer assimilation; causing friction. which judging by the last 50 years' prosperity, did work.

That said, for the last fifty years Australia and every other Western nation's prosperity have been linked to Asian economics and products. That will also mean interaction with its people and migration... improves relations between nations which is also important.

So if our economy is going to be driven by business from non-English-speaking countries... then it is natural people and businesses run by people in these countries will be set up and continue migration. Which ends up benefiting the economy anyway :)

Denying the benefits of migrants is also pretty ignorant because our population structure is such that we will require people to fill the gaps in the pyramid to support our aging population.

So when people start wrapping flags around themselves they're not only saying WE LOVE AUSTRALIA they're saying we love it's people, we belong here... its this kind of 'patriotism' which sparks violence against people from other nations (often third or second generation Australian too) who are completely innocent. It's fairly sickening.

No shit. 0 unemployment coming out of a world war that followed a Great Depression. Do you have any idea what you're talking about? In a stable economy, 0 unemployment is bad idea.

Are you going to blame the high unemployment of this depression on the immigrants, also?

and have you not been to Sydney?
Often, why do you ask?

I personally can't see the logic in migrants being unable to speak the language of the country they choose to move to. You don't have to be autistic to not understand a language brought from overseas.
True. And most who can't speak Australian are illegals or hold temporary visas (i.e. aren't permanent residents or citizens, which require stricter English proficiency).

A side note: Autistic children tend to learn languages adequately (some are even savants at it), they just don't socialise well.

You also don't need to be a xenophobe to have a problem with people coming to live in an English-speaking country and not knowing English.
If you know somebody here who does not know English, could you please inform immigration? They would certainly like to know about it.

Who says there's a true multicultural nation and it works anyway?
Australians do. Notably because our country meets the definition of multicultural and has for decades (both before, during, and after the White Australia policy, which didn't block multiculturalism at all, but simply restricted immigration to people with white skin).

True multiculturalism works where there is NO MAIN CULTURAL GROUP.
You should look up the correct definition of 'multicultural' one day instead of creating your own strawman definition.

a lot of people don't agree with it and would prefer assimilation
Oh, yes, a whole 9% could be bothered by it enough to vote for a party that doesn't support it. Unfortunately for you they didn't seem to care about ti much 3 years later.

which judging by the last 50 years' prosperity, did work.
Multiculturalism as an official government policy has existed for 35 years, which coincidentally has been one of Australia's periods of biggest economic growth and stability.

Sorry, did you have a point?

So when people start wrapping flags around themselves they're not only saying WE LOVE AUSTRALIA they're saying we love it's people, we belong here...
And they have every damn right to. Australia is an awesome country.

its this kind of 'patriotism' which sparks violence against people from other nations (often third or second generation Australian too) who are completely innocent. It's fairly sickening.
Pro-tip: Patriotism is not nationalism. Please remember this in future. Patriotism is love for your fellow man and pride in their achievements and abilities. Nationalism is a rather blind and arbitrary love for and pride in one's country, often to the detriment of minorities and those critical of it.

You are also a retard for finding people who love Australia 'sickening'.
