I have heard a few rumours of bands/artists which might be announced in the 2nd line up:

bjork
the cure
nickelback (i do not know why)
kings of leon (but doubt it because i think they are playing in the US on the dates of splendour)
cold war kids (would be fkn awesome)

i can't fucking stand kings of leon. pretty sure nickelback would be booed off the stage within seconds.

but yeah, on the splendidsounds.com.au website which is like, advertising the music of the artists who have so far been announced .. there are pages for bjork, feist and bright eyes. hmmmm suspicious.

you guys are all wrong.

i doubt organisers will bring out nickelback.

kings of leon and cold war kids are playing lollapalooza which is on at the same time.

everyone worthwhile seeing is at lollapalooza anyway so you can rule out:
mia
daft punk
muse
iggy pop
unterpol
yyys
the roots
regina spektor
spoon
tv on the radio
lcd soundsystem
clap yr hands say yeah
yo la tengo
blonde redhead
peter bjorn and john
rapture
electric six
peaches

bjork is a possibility - she has a break in her tour dates though she is still touring europe and her dates appear to follow a month on vs. month off pattern though i still rule her unlikely: her touring schedule as listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volta_(album)#Concerts skips australia entirely

as do arcade fire - though their break is between two shows both in france

huge rumours for the cure still circulating - their australian tourdates were "pending" last time i checked

im hoping for cocorosie actually. though even thats unlikely due to the fact that they skipped australia when they announced their latest tour.

pretty much every single one of those artists have been here during the past year or so besides daft punk and interpol, neither of which i would really care to see tbh.

nah i know

i'm just saying i don't think we're missing out on that much by lollapalooza being on at the same time, as in bands that people have been holding out on for ages (like the arcade fire or bjork or whatever)

Most of those who have been out here, i missed.
i would see m.i.a, interpol, daft punk, tv on the radio, spoon, lcd soundsystem and the rapture. plus others i saw and would see again.

hence my reasoning that lollapalooza detracts from good splendour announcements :(

i am seriously doubting bjork and arcade fire.

feist would be super cool.

the cure would be awesome, but i still wouldve preferred to see robert smith maybe 10-20 years ago.
