See, I'm polarised on covers - some are good, but many are horrendous (honestly, there have been so many songs where I have heard the cover first, hated it, then found the original and loved it). Plus, there are just some songs which should never be covered (i.e. Purple Rain, there should be a law barring people from touching Purple Rain).

I remember in kindergarten our music teacher (in retrospect... wut!?) played teenage dirtbag for us and my friend thought it was a girl singing at some parts of the song.

I think it was also the same day he told a bunch of people off for sticking their fingers in and out of their ears for that weird effect, he threatened to give us all a lecture about why it's really harmful to your ears if they didn't stop. I was intrigued, but never found out why.
