random tangent:
a few months ago i was in paddignton and went into Zomp shoes and saw these really gorgeous shoes - pointy toed silver outlined in pink/red in lightning bolt style, and the part that covers your toes was all lightning-bolty too and cool. they were $425. i didn't even try them on because i was going thru my whole "no shoes will ever fit me ever" stage and i've remembered them ever since, like saying 'you remember those shoes? they were mad!"
on monday i went to Oxford St & went in Zomp and there they were in the window - last pair, 41 (my size) so i tried them on and they fitted, without struggle!!! (a huuuuuge achievement - that NEVER happens, my feet are hideously wide) i was soo stoked, they were reduced down to $125, but i didn't like them anymore. they looked sooo wierd and the toes were pointy and were pointing up - like pixie shoes!!!! they were horrible on!! so there fore i didn't buy them1!!
