well i tried out for ABC and I'm still waiting for them to reply on whether or not I got the spot...I should really find a back-up...

my friend, to my knowledge, was the last one to get the home and away placement...but it all depends on when you actually have your work experience week thing i guess..
(my school's from the 16th Nov to 20th Nov)

i suggest you try out for ABC, SBS or some random radio place like 2day fm

i have channel nine's number (but they never called back for me so :S)
it's 9965 2197
and SBS is 9430 3642

i don't have ABC's number though

Something similar is the Reserve Bank of Australia,
which does do Work Experience.

You might want to contact them soon, since when I applied last year (during June) there was only one space left.

It's mandatory at my school. They won't let anyone in year 10 stay at school during work experience week. If we don't find a work experience place on our own we have to work in a factory during that week.

If you're interested in journalism, apply at local newspapers like the North Shore Times, etc (depending on where you live, of course). That's what I did, I went to the Mosman Daily. It's not all that exciting, except it does give you a general idea of how things are run at a newspaper. Definitely worth it. Not to mention, it'll look good on a resume.

for those who want to go to a law firm:
1. you can apply at the supreme court, my friends did that
2. the law firm i went to was in the city, elizabeth street, across the street from supreme court, called foulsham and geddes. people there are fairly decent, you can find their contact number by googling them. you get hour lunch break, and do a lot of photocopying... but its cool coz its in the city and you get to go to supreme court a bit
