erm...not really. I was just happy that someone has the same point of view, that they'd rather be a security officer at an art gallery rather than doing office work. heheh...now if I do office work in the future, I will be a very..very..big hypocrite.)

if money was no barrier, being a full time artist would be sik. i think i'll still make arty things as a hobby, whatever i do.

---edit---
the money comment: i have freinds who are artists, and when they tell people they always get funny looks and the occasional "oh. so what are you going to do after that?". i think alot of people read "artist" as "unemployed" (except of course if you become trendy and in demand, then it gets to the stage where you can't afford to buy one of your own paintings :p)

Glad someone else is choosing similar things to me, there is no one in my school doing design :(

The rating thing, is just to tell other people if ya think the thread is good or not...

i didn't choose digital media ... mainly cos i'm not really good with computers hehe, and also cos i wouldn't really wanna completely specialise in JUST digital media. like if i did design at cofa, i'd be doing environmental/spatial design, textile design and probably applied design ..

and visual comm. i spose is KINDA like digital media, cept i'm more interested in the photography aspects of it, rather than .. digital media.

oh yeh btw i visited your homepage thing =) it's new, right? cos i don't remember u havin a homepage thingy before.. anyway i signed your guestbook dude ; )

Its going to be full time :)

I asked whether I could do Uni part-time, but they said that things can get pretty hectic and so its not a good idea to do that unless I'm prepared to be fully dedicated to both work and Uni. I think I can do that, but financially it'd be a little hard. So instead I've now got some contracted work to do on the side of my work at Irrational, which is cool. I thought my boss would knock me back and say they need me working for them (in other words, don't do the contract work, just spend all my energy at Irrational) but after a long phone conversation yesterday I'm now thinking.....shit, I'm gonna have the coolest boss EVER! He said I can take the contract work, no probs, and I asked him about working hours and he said they won't ever push me to work long hours (work outside buisiness hours).

I start February 3rd. Counting down the days :D

Oh and by the way, I may go back to Uni sometime in the future, I'll see how things go.

A friend of mine is going to Uni there next year (University of Canberra) but he'll be living on campus. If he doesn't get offered a good room on campus, then maybe I'll be able to get a share house with him (hopefully, otherwise I'd rather just get a single room apartment). Apart from that, I don't know anyone who lives there :(

Are you into gaming/game developement at all? If so I can definately give you some tips on getting into the industry (from what little experience I've had).
