Asqy never took sides as to whether Schappelle Corby was guilty or not.

His point was: how can any of us say truthfully that she's innocent?

Lots of people were saying stupid things along the lines of "she's obviously innocent". It's not obvious she's innocent. That's why there's a trial.

haha so knew someone was going to make a thread like this one.

corby is guilty because she has been proven guilty in the indo court system. i base this on the fact that indonesian judges are a lot more sane than the australian public.

btw, this isn't my opinion on the case.

I don't think it's fair for anyone to make statements like 'she's guilty' or 'she's innocent'.

I don't think anyone knows 100% if she's guilty or innocent (Other than herself).
I would hope that under the Australian system we would of been able to work that out (testing of the drug to determine where it came from, checking the fingerprints of the inner bag).

But I feel that given the evidence presented in the Trial that an Australian court would have acquitted her.

I think we need to accept that the indonesian judges followed their laws perfectly, and were fairly lenient (under their standards) in the sentencing. It's ok to hope for a better result at an appeal or a reduction of her sentence, but anything else just sounds like some sort of racist superiority complex. Anyone calling for the president to forgive her has no respect for democracy or the separation of the powers of the judiciary and the government.


Edit: I'd be leaning towards her being guilty.

Evidence she is guilty: Drugs found in bag & a bad translation of ownership of bag=ownership of drugs

Evidence she innocent: Drugs could have gone for higher price in Syd then in Bali; Their was a drug running operartion between Bris and Syd, which Corby's bag went through, there was some (pedo) who claimed to overhear a convo about the drug plant, there were shitloads of prints on the bag of weed, the cops didnt test for DNA, etc

So why do you say she is guilty

Korn, it's quite possible that due to the drugs in Australia being of a 'higher quality' she could have sold them for more in bali.

i told u, for a few reasons

1. personal feelings
2. the baggage handler dispute
3. bad chain of evidence
4. corby's character, and intelligence (i.e. not stupid enough to cause i imagine a HUGE bump in her bag by putting drugs there)

so asqy, why isnt she innocent? and if u say because the court said so, i'll bitch slap u
