Socialism is the completion of the cycle, the culmination of human evolution and it shall bring with it a plateau of human flourishing.

I wouldn't go that far. Sure, it has a few merits, although there are disadvantages also.

Today was my first day. Very interesting. For my foundations of law class, we were discussing whether we should or should not bow to a judge when you enter a courtroom setting. That shit went off LOL. I heard the learning in law classes are much better than other courses due to its smaller and intimate settings. Liking it so far - but it's unbelievably draining.

First day was yesterday...was extremely shocked to find out that we won't be getting to do ANY lab work in Histology. No microscopes, no staining, no lab coats - just some room where we look at virtual slides - extremely disappointed :/ The subject content is ace though, I love histology, just there is no practical work. I asked the lecturer why...OH&S... o_O lolwhat? Have there been people swallowing the statining solutions and sniffing the chloroform? We were staining slides every week at tafe, so I don't know what's going on here. Oh wellllsss. I guess it's a sign that I'm on my way to being a 'real' scientist when I get outraged over issues like this xD

lol haven't made any friends in lectures yet xD No doubt I'll become familiar in scif 1101 with somebody...one of the exercises, omfg - "post a picture to your moodle profile so people can put a face to the name".....can't they just remember my name and face in class? Going through the course outline of this class - everything looks like it's going to be awkward :p Also...it's already awkward that we've been supplied with last years' course outline with all the wrong dates xD

Moodle. lol.

I remember I had to do that plus also write a biography about myself to post there - as part of SCIF "assessment".

The subject seems so suss :p I really shouldn't complain though, because it seems all I have to do to is do these role playing games, take an iq + personality test, post a photo and bio of myself - and I'm going to pass xD Still doesn't stop me from feeling dodgy taking this class though :p

The handbook makes it sound much, much better. *shrugs*

Also, highlight of my first day, realising that all my classes do not require me to have to use the basser steps to get to them, they're all in the biomedical/john clancy/clb/wurther buildings :D
