Of course not...and if I was, I'd be highly unlikely to bring it up on a public forum.

What I'm saying is that I think that part of the reasons there's such problems with priests and abuse, not only in the Catholic Church but also the Greek Orthodox, is because the priests have repressed sexual urges which they obviously can't act upon.
*cough* So you didn't have gayness thrust upon you.

No. The problem is homosexuality and it cuts across all institutions which have authority over children. More often than not, the abuse is directed towards boys (teenage boys, btw).
Our Church today has many safe-guards in place to ensure that these scoundrels arent training as Priests as a convenient cover. For them, there is no significant sacrifice because they couldnt really marry and raise a family anyway (at least within the Church), so their desires etc are always lurking just beneath the surface, for there is always something down there, in the dark,
waitinggggg to come out!

Iron, just curious, what would you do if you had a gay child?

Also, have you ever actually met a gay person and talked to them properly?

P.S. I liked your post on climate change.

Lol. So what's your opinion on it then? Aside from whether it can technically be defined as a disease/genetic abnormality etc?
You have no idea what you have just unleashed. Expect many many posts in like 30 minutes when I get back.

If I had a gay child and he/she had the nerve to admit it to me, i'd still love them but expect them to retain their virginity.
Also nightly beatings

I know gay people irl. I suspect many many more. But on bos for instance, SP and I are famous friends. I think the success of this relationship is SP's latent shame

I don't think it's a disease. But there was this big argument about what constitutes a disease. A disease is actually any deviation from a 'normal' state, but I don't believe homosexuality is abnormal.

Can we please ban the world "abnormal" on BoS?

Its AIDS, and that has nothing to do with homosexuality. Its a disease transferred via bodily fluids, not the banging of same sex couples.
Oh but I never implied anything like that. I simply was using an example of an actual disease, funny how your mind strayed to such a connection though.

Ok, I'm really hoping that bit was a joke. :p

Well, I actually think that if you have gay friends, that's something to be admired. Not many people can...you know...well I know I would have trouble being friends with someone whose way of life or whatever was so against what I believe.
