Totally hating my SSM lately. When I wanted to get tattoos on my wrists I asked her and she said it was fine. So I got them like aaaages ago, no problems till today, she says to me "when did you get those tattoos"? I said ages ago remember I asked you before I got them. "No you didnt" And I was like ummmm yeah I did! I even asked Rori and he said it was fine, go ask him. The she said "nahh it's alright..lucky they werent any bigger" pfft..stupid bitch! One week she hates me, the next she's talking to me non stop at the freaking service desk! She's like my mum..FUCK!

Whats your tattoo of? lol

god I hate f/end. Can they ever roster right? The boss decided to add 5 extra staff yesterday for today so that was done and they were still busy and expect me to come down and do one of the supervisors lunch breaks, wtf!? Then the 2nd supervisor said she was going to have tea.. UM HELLO, I'm here because you called an express alert... NOT MY PROBLEM if you have no one to do your tea, *GRRR* funny thing is when I started at 11 every single register was open, but sometime between 11 and 1 half of them disappeared ugh.

Wow work was busy as hell today. Not so much during the day (though there were a few express alerts etc) but I went back shopping at around 5 pm and it was crazy!

Also, lol, tomorrow is going to be a fun fun FUN omg day. Haha.
Was going to be p cool, with my 2IC and myself working all day. BUT the Area Bakery Specialist is making her go and bake at another store (OMG HE'S NOT NORMAL) so now he is going to do her shift? Joy. No smokoes for me!

Oh I know hey! :D

Tomorrow will be DEADDDD! Last year we made only 27k sales (shopping centre is closed that day so it'll be so fricken lonetly, like our night shifts). 2IC is also on that day so it'll be a blast (love my 2IC, she is awesome!)

Happy new years.

Can somebody help me learn a bit more and exchanges/returns/etc. The other day my 2IC had to run off for a sec, and asked me if I "was ok to do refunds", but had to say no because I don't know much about them.

Doing it on the register is easy enough I think. - Svr -> Refunds -> Department (thats as much as I know).

Cash Refunds - Must have recepit for items over $15
Card Refunds - Must provide card used unless under $5 (if so, then give it to them in cash)
Card Refunds - If card is provided, issue refunded amount on returns card

That correct?

There is a manual on refunds on storenet. Don't know if you have ever been on it but find any computer workstation, jump on it and click the icon storenet on the desktop. Then double click supermarkets, then the easiest thing to do is a document search. Up the top there's a search button, click it and enter "refunds". Document should appear detailing everything about refunds. Print it off and read. :)

Pretty much explains everything.

I just receive the order segment line by line, instead of in full. That way if there is a mispick, I don't receive the stock that wasn't in the load (if that makes sense)

I know this isn't policy, but it works for us. On that note - what is the policy for receiving security loads these days?

Does that automatically generate the credit though?
As much as its about SOH counts, checking off smokes is to make sure the stores not being charged (well, reimbursed) for mispicks and as an added security measure to make sure drivers and staff arent taking them. Im not sure if line by line will create the credit, if it does its a nice way to save time, cause the form for credits are annoying as hell...

Funniest thing happened, in the leadup to christmas national shrinkage sent out a CoreComm saying broken packs of cans shouldnt be foodbanked, they should be sold off the shelf or that were allowed to use a 2 teir black basket in a prominent area of the store to sell them for 80c ea. We all had the same reaction "No way in hell". Fax from regional office in the last few days basically going "Dont you dare..."

You have to wonder about these office types sometimes, in the leadup to christmas im sure that every LL and SM was thinking "I know, loose cans in a 2tier at the Front End will boost sales!"....

that's not the way we do it at our store, never heard of the $5 rule for cards. And if they paid by card, it goes bak on the card (not a returns card)
Anyway here's the returns policy, it's online!

Tho I will be sure to check the storenet guide, probably a bit more detailed

I don't get how this is funny??

We ALWAYS mark down our cans to 50c and sell them, just put them in a trolley at the service desk. Of course they will boost sales if the alternative is Foodbank!

I think because CoreCom said to do it, then region office basically said "don't you dare".

lol, foodbank, we got a corecomms from our RSM basically saying that we were putting too much good stuff in to foodbank, ended with the lol-est line

"Whilst foodbank is a good cause, remember that charity starts at home, and protecting our profits should be our first concern"

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

We reduce all our damaged cans/tins...or if a box of cans is damaged (like a can of coke or beer has split) we open them up and reduce the cans individually.

Nothing gets sent to a Foodbank or charity organization. IF it isn't reduced (like if someone doesn't have time) it's chucked.

Idk why your manager would have an issue with them? They're not like, overly noticeable or anything lah.
Thats what my CSM said! He was like "I dont know why she has a problem with them, can hardly see them...shes an idiot sometimes" I lol-ed so hard at that! She has her moments...not sure if I like her or not.
