I currently attend ffld hs, and im literally ranked last in all my subjects, probably only passing modern by 50%.
My assessment marks range from 45-50%, but my parents still don't let me repeat. I haven't been trying in trials, cos im bummed out. I just wanna start over.

i messed up along the way due to personal reasons.
i would love to repeat, don't tell me tafe or transfer, because I WANT TO REPEAT.
I want to do this for myself, prove myself i can do it.

So guys, how do i get my parents to agree with me?
I can cope with repeat awkwardness and having a few acquaintances.
Please help guys! thanks!

edit:
mum: get the fuck up, continue school or im going to disown you.

shes not jking

You go to a public high school right? Doesn't that make your education free? Why would your parents even care? :s

Why would they want you getting an ATAR of like 50 when repeating could potentially change the rest of your life?

Ethnics?

well...you can always do a forced repeat by just refusing to go to school for the rest of the year and not sitting the hsc lol.

Listen to your parents - they will end up saving you from wasting a year of your life.

No offense. But repeating year 12 is fucking stupid.

You will just waste a year of your life.

Tbh i'd rather do an extra year of uni, rather than repeating year 12.

FUCK YEAR 12

But it's your choice

FUCK THE TRIALS (and hsc)

look her parents need to look realistically, the fact that she has failed trials means that all she has is hsc now. And the fact that she has been doing no so good means that her atar will just get affected. Whats the point in continuing when you're not gonna get a mark that you're not satisfied with? She should just repeat, it's her life and her decision. She wants to repeat to show that she can change herself and if her parents don't want to see her strive. Then they can literally.... Why are they telling her to continue school when her marks aren't getting her anywhere? No point.

I agree with this. There are many alternative pathways to get to where you want to go. If you repeat, what guarantee do you even have that you'll magically improve to a hectic atar? I would recommend just doing your best for the final HSC exams, get an ATAR and go to some uni (which one doesn't really matter). From there you can transfer fairly easily.

OP, ( wassup ffld, holla @ me)
butt srsly dont repeat hsc, will probably be worst decision ever made.
go to a college, tafe, or uws or something( not degrading- but it is generally easier to get into( except meddy) and plus fairfield is gws so extra points.. and then u can play the jumping game... ie. for eg. u wanna do economics or something... do a bach of business then change second year to this and that...)

MUCH BETTER THAN REPEATING HSC.

+1! How do you know that you won't get <50 again (assuming you get one this year). You might do worse than you did this year because of 'personal reasons' again... There's other ways to get into Courses

my dad repeated year 12 because he didnt get the marks he wanted, 2nd year he got the marks for dentistry. repeating isn't stupid if you have something you are very passionate about or if your marks are no where near acceptable and you CAN do a lot better
