i did year 8 entry. How did you go? my expirence is listed a few messages before this btwHi did anyone do HAST for year 8 entry? Someone said Penrith offers 30 ppl an interview but only 8 get in… idk
It went well for me ig. I kinda started rushing for maths at the end because I had like 5 mins left. The rest were good. Abstract reasoning was super easy thankfully…Some questions in reading were confusing but overall it was ok. What schools did you apply for?i did year 8 entry. Ohh ok. Sorry I actually applied for year 8 entry. I only applied for Penrith, but there were a lot of people so idk if I'll get in or not. I don't have that many extracurriculars, I only did dance, swimming and netball. I also played in a school band. For naplan, my yr 5 results were ok but my yr 7 results were pretty good- I got in the little triangle at the top for maths, grammar and punctuation. The rest were in the exceeding part somewhere in the middle. I also got a credit in the big science competition and an academic achievement from my primary school. I'm probably forgetting many other things though. My supporting documents weren't that good sadly, hopefully the exam results save me.Oh, that's good! -3 clubs I went and participated in a lot. (I signed up for 5 clubs though) in 2024
- debating/public speaking in 2024
-AMC (math competition)
-CAT (math competition)
-Big science competition
-ICAS (results from 2023 and 2024 in english and math distiction all)
-Musical as main character
-swimming carnival (went in 2024 and 2025)
- History club (only club for 2025)
-Badminton for 2024 - 2025 (competitive and extra tuition)
-public speaking (in Year 7 Rostrum Voice of Youth competition) and debating
-did a school musical as a main character
-went to opera house for music (as a whole school) and preformed for parents and peers
My naplan results are also good with everything being in top band 8 or higher in 2022 and in 2024 I got everything exceeding in all except grammar which was triangle.
