dw, youre still in year 8 so you have time. in some cases, people leave in term 4, so you have a good chance. but if it doesnt work out, you can always apply in the following years

I live in girraween and I still haven't gotten the results back

GNG, so ik im prolly so late to this discussion, seems like new updates be popping up every second, but last week i got reserve letter from tech (sydney tech was my first pref, hurlstone 2nd, and mac fields 3rd, im in yr 8 for yr 9 entry btw) and i thought this was an okay result, until recently one kid in my class GOT IN HURLSTONE, but he had the exact same hast bands as me (top 10% reading, top of middle 50% in maths, BOTTOM 15% abstract (competition in abstract was crazy) and top 10% writing, overall bottom of top 15% in total HAST) and apparently offers have been made for tech as well?! NOOOOOOOOO, apparemtly one of the hurlstone officers told my dad that the reason the kid with the same band got in, is cuz he ranked it 1st, while i ranked tech 1st, selective school entry logic is so cooked man, im legit so desparate rn, basically as much as @Smartboiiii lol! atp, all i can hope for is kids leave in term 4....

Based on my knowledge, they first check ur hast results and if ur overall top 20% they look into u further such as school reports etc. extracurricular don’t mean much however its good to have them

Reserves have already done the interview and the school made the choice to reserve them

After an interview, you’re either rejected, accepted or reserved

Mine were:
Y8 - 4As 4Bs
Y7 sem 2 - 2As 4Bs 2Cs
Y7 sem 1 - 2As 3Bs 3Cs

I had tech as 3rd choice and I didn’t make it, yet I don’t have my hast results cause Girraween was my first preference and they’re taking FOREVER to send it

oh ok so my yr 8 sem 1 report was 4As (STEAM, science, geo, aboriginal languages (for some reason)), 2Bs (maths, english), and 4Cs (pdhpe, music, art, tech, yeah its pretty obvs i didnt care much for these subjects, but i dont think these matter much anyways) then yr 7 sem 2 report was 2As, 5Bs, 3Cs, and yr 7 sem 1 was 1 A, 5Bs, 4Cs

Congrats on getting reserved though but I think the way it works is by the end of t4, if you got no phone calls saying you got accepted the it unfortunately means you’re rejected. Did they tell you what reserve you were by any chance?

This is for Sydney tech, I think girraween has reserves too though according to my friends who applied last year

And yes, Sydney tech are opening new spots since the school told my parents that some boys are leaving cause they got accepted into better schools or just leave for whatever reason. With girraween results coming out soon, a few Sydney tech boys are sure to make it and you might actually get in!!!

nope sadly, all they said that im on the reserve list, i think they stopped giving out ranks within the reserve list
