isnt cambridge good for engineering and practical? i thought oxford was the theoretical and classical one

Oxford gives stupid "liberal arts college" vibes.

Why do u wanna study internationally sooo bad tho? Australia has top 20 unis. Also, these top 20 unis offer degrees with like 80+ atars as a threshold. And for medicine u need a 99+ atar, even for the worst uni in australia.
People these days couldn’t care less about the uni they go to but rather than wealth. Think atar. A month after u get ur atar, nobody cares. Same with the uni u go to. It’s always ‘what job’ or ‘how much money’ but never ‘what uni did u go to’

Wealth > Status

But ykw while everyones fighting for their ‘dream unis’ with the most random degrees (like bsfr who’s taking commerce), im gonna be laughing on the sideline with my popcorn and 300k+ salary

in america tho its always what uni did u go to? in the uk too in elite circles, and to clarify i dont care about ATAR, again im using atar and hsc ONLY as a stepping stone for uni

But personally, if my friends ever asked me ‘what uni did u go to’ and look down on me for choosing a random uni in perth, can you really call them friends?
I don’t wanna go to prestigious unis for artificial happiness, I wanna pursue what will make me the most successful in life and bring wealth to my bloodline.

But then again, everyone has their own perspective on a ‘perfect life’ and I respect that so it feels hypocritical if I judge

Dude, nobody would choose a non Go8 for no reason (with one and only one exception, medicine).

Besides, there are only 3 unis on the Go8 worth attending: UNSW, USyd, UMelb.

usyd is historic and prestigious and elite network like australia's harvard and oxford, unsw is industry and tech focused, and umelb idk, others r just historic thats kind of it
