    Question

:) That's an easy question. Basically they looked at the Christian God as like the earth, and incorporated their beliefs into Christianity that way. Also look at the translation of the Bible into Aboriginal, clergy from Aboriginal groups. (I recommend the Macquarie Study Guide: it was...

    what is textual intengrity???

From my understanding (I did it last year so I'm a little rusty) textual integrity is where the parts of the story fit together, and still make sense together. King Lear (the text I did) has integrity because the values together all make sense, it's not just a mish mash of whatever. For...

    The Problem of Pamela Bradley

Pamela Bradley is convenient: she's the textbook for most people, so people quote her. She doesn't say anything unique. This is why you don't quote her. But people don't seem to get that. And they find other sources intimidating.

Question about productions, readings, and so on...

see my thing in "i hate king lear" on this one. Best of luck! :)

    i hate king lear

If you know productions, you don't need to know readings. If you know readings, you don't need to know productions. The syllabus says that in this case you can do either readings (looking at the values of the play through the text, adapting it to a certain ideal e.g. feminism, and then...

    "In the Wild" - Thesis

What is really wild about this situation? Is it the environment or the people in it? How much wildness do you need in your existence to be "natural"? What is natural? What is human? Who is human in these texts? Basically focus upon the idea of humanity, the way that it's used/ abused...

    Image and Myth Assignment

Who else can't find a damn thing for the Classical Civilisation assignment? I look everywhere, and all I can find is stuff that I can't write enough about, or that someone else has "bagsed". Grr! Any ideas? I'm starting to get desperate? (Btw: if anyone has no idea what I'm on about and...

    Text Books- aaargh!

Actually there are textbooks for ancient if you read the fine print of the course reader... and I forked out the money for an OCD too- I'm sooo broke! Then there's classical civilisation, and the lexicon I bought for Greek (anyone who knows me now knows who I am... :p)

    Writing Ancient History Notes!

Essays are incredibly helpful, but I think you need to summarise as well or else there's no way you're going to remember it all! To write essays to prepare for the HSC, I'd recommend starting with books, and then gradually taking the books away, then starting to time yourself: at first give...

    in desperate need!

I don't have any notes to give you, and I only did two of your four topics. But I would recommend the following: The old Excel Ancient History (far more detail than the new one, although it doesn't have anything on the new syllabus) The Macquarie Study Guide- it goes through the syllabus...

    What's the question want exactly..?

Yeah you can't use Herodotos more than once to fill up your sources. When they say five, they mean five different sources. :p But you will be in a better position if you know two different parts of Herodotos. Also remember the historiography (I can't stress that enough!) Best of luck! :)...

    ancient history tutor needed desperately

I'll be willing to help you: drop me a line at asta8216@mail.usyd.edu.au I specialise in Greece, and I know a fair bit about Rome. I'm studyong Egypt and the Near East for the first time this semester so I'm not much help on that, but I'll try!

    The Problem of Pamela Bradley

I got band 6, and everyone I talked to who got over a band 4 didn't quote her. See my list of books to use instead of Bradley. I'm really trying to help you out here. If you use Bradley, the marker will think "another lemming who can't think for themselves". That can't be good for their...

What topic did everyone do for their major Project?

I did my assignment (I'm class of 2003) on the views of Greek culture as used by various societies. I got the idea from Martin Bernal's Black Athena. He argues that the Greeks were Egyptian, and that the Egyptians were black- it's ethnocentric history: it's refuted by Mary Lefkowitz who says...

    Dividing up Ancient History

Any other thoughts? I thought this would be more popular: I know I struggle to find stuff I can reply to sometimes, and when I did my HSC (I was under a different name) I struggled to find the stuff that related to me. Good luck!

Texts To Use Instead of Pamela Bradley

I know you've done your trials and everything, but it's not too late to seek new sources, because they are important. I'll provide a list of the ones I know of (I'm mainly a Greece person, but I know of others for Rome, Egypt, and the Near East). Please feel free to add to my list, as it is...

    The Problem of Pamela Bradley

Yes: appropriate historians. Bradley is not an appropriate historian. And I take back what I said before: you can't be marked DOWN, but you won't be given marks for using historians if you only quote Bradley, and you won't get the marks for using a variety if she's the second one you use...
